More mops more problems.

Greek for "After" if memory serves... it's been a long time since college. ^_^
Mori2 (02/01/2013 02:00pm):
It's usually used in English "to indicate a concept which is an abstraction from another concept,
used to complete or add to the latter." Like how metadata is data about data. I just thought it'd be
a fun name, considering how often the word meta is thrown around in strategy games haha

Cool story, 99% certain it's accurate: At the death of Aristotle, his students compiled all his
notes into a book and arranged them in order of subject matter. After finishing all the sorting,
they realized that he had a category that did not fit into any of the previous sections of the
tome. Finding no place to put these notes, mostly about the philosophical 'world', they decided
to place them into their own chapter at the end of the text. Seeing that the chapter before it
was simply titled "physics", they decided to call the odd collection "metaphysics," meaning
literally "after the physics." ^_~
Mori2 (02/01/2013 02:22pm):
Yeah, I read up on it after I posted, I love how the English origins all come out of a
misunderstanding of Latin haha
Daehphone (02/01/2013 04:40pm):
Actually that fits with "metagame" since it involves the discussion /after/ the game about future
application of what was learned.
