Map Categories
From AW/FEBW Wiki
You may notice some maps on awbw have been sorted into various map categories. here is a brief explanation of those categories.
A-Rank - A-Rank status is a mark of quality which can only be awarded to map by a member of the Map Committee. To receive an A-Rank a map must not only be interesting and playable but above all, it must be fair and well balanced.
S-Rank - S-Rank status is reserved for only the very best maps. S-Ranks can only be awarded to a map by the Map Committee as a whole. To receive an S-Rank a map must first receive the A-Rank status and then (if it is particularly good) be nominated by a member of the committee to be upgraded. It will then be discussed and analysed and eventually voted on.
Sprite Maps - from time to time mappers create maps for the sake of art rather than to be playable. There is a special category for these maps so they can be browsed and kept separate from the playable maps.
Tournament - maps currently being used in official tournaments show up in this category.
Un-playable - some maps have flaws and bugs (of are just so awful) that they are unplayable.
