A meatshield is any unit that is used to be in the way of the enemy, particularly directly next to your own units, and is used to prevent the enemy from firing at your units, or by wasting attacks of the enemy to get to your more valuable units.
Meatshielding is the tactic of blocking the enemy from reachings your units by putting other units in the way, generally cheaper units, or Crippled units. Usually Infantry are used, as they have decent movement, and cost the lowest ammount in the game, but any unit can be used as a meatshield, injured or not. Players generally use Meatshields to protect their indirect units, which can be any type of unit, even tanks.
