aw man, I planned this turn for multiple days and then I got a f***ing mouse slip (and of course its the center piece in my assault...).
I think that lost me too much tempo. A bummer, I wanted to see if I calculated everything right such that you miss your power by an inch on your turn :/.

The line was to put my artillery on [07,05] instead of [08,05] ([08,06] would have worked too but I considered it a bit weaker), [hope to] deny you the COP next turn by playing very defensively and thereby forcing you into infantry engagements for properties [05,05] and [07,07] over the next few turns.
Agreed to a friendly match sometime later (maybe after one of your tourneys is over)! I really like games with a greater focus on position and tempo like this one.

Yeah looking at it, in the current position, the arty is kind of wasted. I considerd this exact position of yours with the arty and the double cap. The infantry interrupt would be awkward, but it is very close to a double base of mine, so I was reasonably confident. Enough to move my eastern force to the south to apply pressure. I think on Caustic finale, the corners can be decisive because they are relatively easy to take with a front switch, but relatively easy to guard with an artillery.
Nonetheless, you had a better start, and this game was a total coinflip. Very sad it ended this way. You can always hmu for a friendly match, for sure! Maybe best to finish one tourney like you said haha. I am already pressed for time to manage these two lol.
