I'm gonna stick to the opening you did, as far as I agree with it. So day 1 recon. I think KMF used triple mech into that.
But I now realize you went Kindle instead of Andy. I feel like they have similar purpose for this gameplan, but Andy is better into Drake. Shouldnt matter too much.

You are correct. Into Drake, Andy is probaply better than Kindle, though she still has her own strenghts. I couldn't go for Andy, since I didn't know what CO's KMF would use. Had he gone Kanbei+Andy like uxna did against you, the best strat would've been a day 1 resign.
KMF did indeed go triple mech, but I think that is a mistake. Inf-tank-inf is much better. I delayed his port, which wasn't even on my goals list, till I think day 10. This should get it around day 4 I believe.

Yeah I agree, triple mech was weak. I think inf tank inf kinda kills this strat cold. But lets see how it goes. I dont remember correct capping either hahaha. I should look into it a bit more.

My main strat of permanently denying the weak-side airport still would've worked, even if KMF had gone the superior inf-tank-inf. However, that was with Kindle, with Andy it might be impossible, it's been a while since I moveplannered all that. But since you're Andy, you might not need to permanently deny my airport. I don't know, it all depends on what strat you want to go for. If you ever think you've messed up your intended strat, just let me know and we can do it over.

I don't remember exactly why you went Kindle. I thought it was because of the adjacent city next to the base. Andy would need a SCOP to push hard, so there's that.

I took Kindle for a variety of reasons. Urban Blight to interrupt if an engagement isn't possible, the city next to the base yes, the three diagonal buildings for a Rockets, and the fact that Kindle's damage potential is the only possible way to break Kanbei if my main guy is Sturm, had KMF gone for that. And some other specific engagements combined with the opening too, but I forget what exactly.

I may not have played optimal to try and get my weak-side airport. The early bomber is interesting, something I had also thought of doing back then, but I went for a rockets instead. Let's see how this will play out.

I think with the tank, it becomes nigh impossible to pull it off. Triple mech made him really weak to a bomber. You build tank+bomber, maybe two, and what can he do from a single base, no airport, and maybe a late port?
Still, even if you'd overrun the base quickly, the Sturm weakside will crumble fast also. And thats if Colin doesnt just throw the kitchen sink at defending the weakside. Sturm is cool, but this is Colin's playground.

My weak-side survived quite a while against KMF, I just failed to secure his base, I got really close though. Maybe going bomber would've been a better idea, but I went for a lot of vehicles from the 2-base to make sure he couldn't get his airport, even if he had gone inf-tank-inf. You didn't, and so I have my airport now. I WANTED a bomber, really badly, but I never had the room for one. KMF even went on the offensive against my top base. I don't regret my daring attempt though, as in hindsight, it's possibly my favorite played match.
But yeah of course, this is 100% a Colin map. I just hoped to maybe do it with a funny Sturm, but it's extremely hard. In testing with GrayGoo I managed to do it, but he ofc didn't play optimal, as it was just a test game instead of a quarter finals.
Btw these damage rolls are hilariously pathetic. What do you mean a MD-tank deals 7 hp to a road infantry!?

Yeah with the airport yours, its over. Gonna call it here. I still think triple mech was a way weaker opening, and bomber+tanks was great into that. Probably double bomber after you see the megatank from him. That should cause him enough issues that you may not even need the rocket, and can focus on damage control elsewhere.
Even with all that, I still think you would've lost hahah
