Like I said in the chat, this is gonna be really geared towards teching up and high funds.
It might even support a pretty impressive air battle. The river might stalemate a bit, but
air support could break that up a bit. There's good incentive to attack, and you can't
really be recon rushed out of the base, but you might be harassed by recons early anyway.
Meaning, Koal loves you with all those roads. You could always break them up with random
forests or a mountain. It also feels like it could use a bit more terraining overall, too.
FTA countered = :-D

You'll definitely want to ban Kindle/Sami, black bombs, and probably stealths if you don't
want to deal with them.

DAMN YOU AND YOU'RE MAGICAL POWERS TO SEE A MAP BEFORE IT'S PUBLISHED!!!

and now on to my real comment

first off, since people will be asking for them, bans
CO bans: Broken 5, and anyone else you want, I'm not a good judge
Unit bans: anything you want, once again, I'm not a good judge

EDIT: oh and the name was taken from one of funwes' comments in the chat

18:15 遺跡の時間 (Ruins): I just switched my name back to this, I don't think you were on
when I did this wes

18:16 funwes: So what's that supposed to mean?

18:16 amthc356: me or 遺跡の時間 ?

18:16 遺跡の時間 (Ruins): I used to have it like this but Nyv kept insulting me because of it

18:16 funwes: Is it supposed to mean anything, or are you just one of those typical people
that think it just looks cool?

18:16 遺跡の時間 (Ruins): ?

18:16 遺跡の時間 (Ruins): I tpyed my name into the google translator

18:16 funwes: Because otherwise that would be funny to see someone ask you, "Why is your
name banana stop sign cherry??"

18:16 遺跡の時間 (Ruins): it says Ruins of Time, my file name

18:16 funwes: Oh, ok.
Ruins of Time (08/11/2008 11:08pm):
k, changed map a little bit to fit with funwes' suggestions, I still think it needs a
little more terrain, but I'm not sure where exactly to put it
Everzwijn (08/12/2008 08:59am):
10/10 just for the map name.
Ruins of Time (08/12/2008 10:55pm | Edited: 08/12/2008 10:55pm):
WHO GAVE IT A 5?!?!?!?!? I DIDN'T SELF RATE IF THAT'S WHY YOU DID IT!!!!!!!!
lindsay40k (08/14/2008 08:19pm | Edited: 08/15/2008 09:32am):
The funding balance seems good. The wide front drastically limits the power of infantry
spam whilst giving air units a good chance of breaking through - and there seems to be
enough properties to support sustained production of air units, which together with the
tank-copter-AA triangle helps ensure it's not just infantry and indirects.

One thing which might be interesting would be to move the airports to a location where
they can be locked down by Missiles. That will add an extra element of trying to stop the
opponent from getting a Missile unit in a secure location.

The terrain density seems quite well balanced as it is - units are getting funneled and
there are plenty of strongpoints that are not chokepoints.

Also: playing a game out on this will take a long time, even when one player has an
overwhelming advantage. Might I suggest a recommended setting of being first to capture 36
properties (this means the 29 on the player's side of the river and 7 on the other, one of
which is deep in enemy territory - a strong enough advantage and achievement to base
victory on I think without the need to grind it all the way down to the HQ.
Ruins of Time (08/14/2008 08:46pm):
thanks for the comment lindsay, I might change the airports and put them in area like
where you said, but first we need to finish the test games
Ruins of Time (08/16/2008 04:55pm | Edited: 08/16/2008 08:15pm):
Roads are freed up a bit now to allow recons and such easier pass, and ghosted airports
added to help with refueling/repairing air units
