Prismatic (09/01/2021 08:54pm):
My first attempt at constructing the world map of Fallout: New Vegas. Orange Star: The New California Republic is heavily overextended. They start with the most properties by far, but they're scattered across the map. They will have to fight bitterly to defend the Hoover Dam from Caesar's Legion, Camp McCarran from House's Securitrons, all the while dealing with harassment from frumentarii and the Khans. They have the most to lose, and must decide which battles are worth laying the future of the Republic on the line over. Jade Sun: Caesar's Legion's offensives have carried them across the Colorado, but they'll have a hell of a time holding it. They need to contend with enemies to the north and south: if they don't strike first, then an NCR army or Boomer fleet will simply roll their war camp over. The center and south of the map are theirs for the taking, provided nobody beats them to it. Teal Galaxy: Mister House's upgraded securitrons boast high firepower, while his HQ is comfortably insulated from enemy attack. As he controls the upper center, he can play kingmaker, but must be wary of attacks from incipient Khans and Boomers. House is smart enough to know the danger of a war on two fronts... but does he have a choice? Brown Desert: The Khans may not have the numbers, but with neutral communities ripe for raiding and a comm tower fueling their famous ferocity, they stand a chance to become the premiere power of Western Vegas. From there it isn't far to the city proper... if House or the NCR don't roll them over first. They also have roving Khans far afield, ready to capture territory on behalf of the tribe. Blue Moon: Few would suspect the Boomers of Nellis Air Force Base to win the war for New Vegas... which may be why they can do just that. Their HQ is a fortified nut with Vegas's most murderous defenses. They control the only airport, and their recently revived B52 bomber promises to rain death on their enemies. The only issue is that there are few cities they can hope to capture without running into Legionaires or securitrons. Even the strongest fortress can fall to a well-supplied enemy, after all. |
