This map is an update / modernization I made of the A-ranked Urban Rush maps. The first game of AWBW I ever played was on Urban Rush II, so it has a special place in my heart. Compared to the previous version, I've made a few aesthetic improvements and quality-of-life changes. I swapped the starting locations so the two opposing armies are actually facing each other (finally!). I've also given each faction 1 Infantry unit garrisoned at their HQ to start, to slightly increase the pace of the early game. I made a few aesthetic additions / changes to the bases (only in areas that rarely see action anyway). Blue Moon's bonus soldier now gets its own special spawn location. Gave each HQ a small moat (not that HQs ever see any action on this map). I added a neutral port in each base, and included some areas of shoals and beachheads, to introduce a naval element to the map (though I predict that air units will still remain more effective). I made a few small tweaks to make the corner islands a bit more accessible and relevant. A small airport location tweak now allows the Transport Copter to reach the island one turn earlier. An additional shoal tile allows for another spot to land on there, and the islands have been tweaked slightly to be more interesting. I've also included Labs on them, in case you want to play a Lab match. The mountains on the corners of the islands in the player bases, when occupied by infantry, provide some vision of part of the island from your base, allowing you to check them for enemy intruders. Other than that, it's the same old Urban Rush you know and love. Enjoy! |
