BACKGROUND:
Year is 2028, and a simmering Cold War is gripping the Pacific. China began an aggressive campaign of diplomatic
pressure coupled with military flexing years ago. In an attempt to persuade Taiwan to surrender without a fight, and to
expand Chinese influence throughout the Pacific. The Unites States began to focus more heavily on this new threat, but
their position was undermined by the debacle of the Afghanistan pullout in 2021. As a result many of the smaller island
nations in the South China sea were unwilling to form defense pacts with the US and her allies, instead either giving in to
Chinese influence or staying as neutral as possible.

By 2023 the the Second Cold War has begun. Both nations undermining, scheming, preparing for the conflict that could very
well start over the fate of Taiwan. Elsewhere, Korean armistice talks start to gain traction. Over the years this would become
a major point of interest with the US and China. Japan, the US, Australia, and Taiwan are coordinating military intelligence
and strategy with one another. No official alliance or pact is announced but there is a noticeable increase in military
cooperation. This pressure’s the Chinese Communist Party to find allies of their own, and to further press the Taiwan
standoff.

On February 28th 2024, Taiwan’s Peace Memorial Day, The People’s Liberation Army of China began a massive military
incursion campaign designed to scare Taiwan into surrendering or firing first. PLA aircraft penetrated the Taiwan Air Defense
Zone in droves. The largest incursion of PLA aircraft in history, combined with naval vessels approaching Taiwanese
sovereign waters. This appeared as an invasion attempt and nearly sparked a war. Over a tense few days the standoff was
quelled but not before several close calls by aircraft and ships nearly resulted in a shooting war. US, Australian, and
Japanese involvement forced the CCP to rethink their strategy and pull back. There were repercussions for this event.

The international community finally had to decide on the Taiwanese Crisis. Sides had to be taken, and it was becoming too
dire to ignore. With many nations starting to side with Taiwan and the US, Russia became concerned they might suddenly
lose their only major ally in the Pacific region. Combined with an emboldened Russia with greater global interests since the
US left the Middle East, this resulted in a military defense pact with China in 2025. Very quickly such a pact was drafted for
the US, Australia, and Japan. Taiwan was officially left out for fear of starting a war.

The Korean peace talks had made headway, but were becoming bogged down. This resulted in several attempts to derail
the conferences in 2025. By 2026, several clandestine operations from China and the US resulted in the talks completely
disintegrating. This would result in another flashpoint conflict in 2027. A large band of North Korean defectors attempting to
leave for South Korea nearly sparked a war. North Korea threatened war if they were not returned, claiming they were
criminals of heinous crimes. South Korea refused. This standoff lasted from mid 2027 into 2028.

With the US focused on this new diplomatic crisis, the PLA once again stepped up their incursions toward Taiwan. Chinese
state media began to claim another massive aerial and naval incursion on Taiwanese Peace Memorial day. One week prior
Taiwanese officials stated openly for the world, that if Chinese forces penetrated the Taiwan air defense zone, or naval craft
came within 30 nautical miles they would be fired upon. This resulted in a massive flareup in diplomatic tensions in the
region.

On February 28th 2028, the powder keg ignited. It is unclear who fired first, Taiwanese forces of Chinese forces, but the
outcome was war. Quickly US naval and air forces began to move in to reinforce Taiwan. Japanese forces also began to
mobilize. Meanwhile North Korean troops began an invasion into South Korea. An attempt to draw away US reinforcements.
This was a concerted effort by both nations. Within 24 hours Russian forces were mobilizing and the Second Cold war had
nearly become World War 3. Many other nations were unwilling to get involved due to severe nature of the conflict, and
were waiting to see who would tap out first.

GOALS:
BlueFor is to defend Taiwan and South Korea, and eventually wear out the onslaught. If RedFor troops have not ceased
hostilities by then you must take the fight to them and end this conflict. You may not have started this war, but you will be
finishing it.

RedFor is looking to secure Taiwan, South Korea, and hold those claims. If that means taking the fight to the US, Japan,
and Australia then so be it. Let nothing challenge your might.
