This is a FoW map, it may more suit for Fog of Wars |

Would be nice if the armies faced each other |

I like it, the shape and lanes to support another front are interesting. Max seems powerful for his tier, it wasn't too difficult to rush an opponent's weak base early and keep them trapped with a tank + an anti air forcing them to either wait several turns or over-invest so they could escape. Might not work if they predict and counter your initial units correctly, so it makes for a bit of a skill check. |

Very classic Equally Divided FoW map |

an awful map to play |

I won all games I played on this map, but I gotta say, it's a very bad map. The big width of the middle essentially splits this map into two separate maps, where each side plays 2 bases vs 1 base and airport and vice versa. Speaking about that, the side with 1 base always gets crushed to the point it has to build a MD Tank to defend, and that's the only option, as artillery doesn't work at all. It also takes a while to get the airport (specially when you are doing a good capture order) which makes it useless for defense, since your opponent can have an AA positioned to counter it without any risks. The comm tower placement is also confusing. At first glance it looks like it's in a contested spot but I assure you, if you have a good cap in your opponents tower then you already won the game 5 turns ago and you have more than 100K army advantage |

I feel like you're basically obligated to try a cheesy com tower rush from day 1. if it works out, you get to enjoy a 20% firepower boost from day 5 while your opponent has to struggle to recover one of them. if it doesn't, well you probably still get 1 tower and that's the expected outcome for most other maps. EDIT: Upon further looking into the map, it seems there is either a very apparent issue with the map bapance or consistent matchmaking mismatches in favor of the P2 side. No GL map should EVER hit a +/-5 winrate imbalance. |
OrangeJu1ce (02/07/2022 08:16pm):
Yours and opponents base are too close to eachother (can reach opponent's base in 3 days with a tank). Can become 1 sided too quickly as it's too easy to reinforce. More cover and movement blockers could make it less of a no man's land. Putting the com tower in the middle could slow the map down and prevent the losing opponent from ff-ing in the first 10 days |
aLittleFishy (02/10/2022 11:00am):
If your opponent chooses not to resign the match can drag on forever due to HQ position (in 1 match i had an 8k per turn lead so capture limit is too high to be an acceptable alternative). |

My match here as Andy was a fun/interesting one. And while its a 2 base v. 1 base layout, your HQ is on your 2 base side, so an HQ race shouldn't really be a problem. Bravo for the unique map design! |

๐ - Weakside artillery spam ๐ - Weakside mech spam ๐ - Weakside tank spam The map's shape does lead to some interesting decisions in the late game when things get more vertical, but the early game is boring & predictable and the rest can easily become a slog if enough defensive decisions are made (and they often will be thanks to how tight the fronts are). The HQs are uselessly backline, the airports are too sidelined to matter when you really need them, and so the game is largely decided by how the COM tower fights go, not strictly because of the towers themselves but also because early control of at least one tower's area is vital for later city control. All of those waterway chokepoints and road rings provide a lot of 0 defense terrain that benefits the attacker more than the defender. The current rating is a little harsh; a 4/10 would be fair. Then again, many players may not have gotten an interesting late game because it's by no means a guarantee here. Perhaps something to do with that presently lopsided win rate? |
Unggoy Slaya (04/07/2022 05:11pm):
I have not even played on this map but the ratings have led me to just draw on the map. Any time a GL map has a rating less than 3, it's a good sign something isn't right with the map. Also look the win rates for the two teams 46% for OS and 54% for Black Hole. Not exactly a ringing endorsement of a fair game with over 800 played games. |

wtf ur right |
KANBEI NEED BASES (05/08/2022 01:10pm):
terrible map. the weakside is dumb. too easy for one player to get both towers or fully disable the weakside fast with indirects. 1 out of 10 |
namedplayer (06/01/2022 11:23pm):
This map looks like the SS symbol and it sucks to play on too. |
Unchartedแ Jake`s Fortune (06/20/2022 04:30am):
Can we please get rid of this already? The W/L shows the map is lopsided beyond any doubts, there's only one real gameplan here and the mass forests suck to play into. |
