So this is my first map, not really sure how I feel about it
MinorInWumbology (02/08/2022 05:42pm):
Before I say anything else you should consider stopping by the map making channel in the discord. I think this map has thin-
ish paths to the center. Nothing is really worth fighting over aside from the middle as well, and those cities can be locked with
artillery since the middle is very easily choked. If one side wins there it'll be very easy to reinforce. I think an HQ 6 squares
away from your base is good for accelerating infantry via black boat and it can only be reinforced by the 1 Base side, but I
think it might need to be moved somewhere else, a square or two further away since if you win the middle the game is
basically over anyways.

Having a black boat on your HQ isn't just a way to keep it from being capped early but also a good tool if you don't want the
owner standing on it for the terrain star advantage (without sacrificing a unit that can perform repairs and boost infantry).
There's barely any roads which heavily restricts the movements of recons or rockets, and any properties they could roll over
are behind the bases instead of in front so they're pretty slow and useless.

The pipeseams that can be destroyed are a tiny bit pointless as air units can't capture and there's nothing for the
battlecopters to do going north, but if an enemy wanted to mess with your air units they might as well point the artillery at
your HQ and try to cap it if they can spare being that far away from the middle and are winning that much.

To sum up I would maybe say: move the bases back, possibly make the map smaller, add some more roads for recons and
rockets, but don't go crazy with it, spread those cities behind the bases out in front of them and try to put them in places that
mean there's more than just the center to fight over, and don't put a "chain" of cities (where 1 can be capped right after the
other) longer than 3 anywhere unless 1 or 2 of them are on the front lines or a little contestable.

Sorry if that's a lot to take in advice wise but making good maps can be a little difficult. The discord peeps will help you out if
you ask though, I'm sure. Either by giving you links to resources, or outright explaining why certain rules of thumb exist.
