__ Final Skirmish V2, finally here! 13 countries face off against 3, in a final battle on land, sea, and the skies! In order to win, the 13 players most really work together, on each side there is comm towers and labs that support the 3 top countries, take them down to help weaken the other sides. Recommended Settings: -Starting time 3 days, add 4 days per turn, 7 days max per turn. 100 unit limit cap. -Play with teams (Black Hole, Grey Skies, Amber Blaze vs Everyone else) -Preferibly with Labs on that allow you to get Mega Tanks, Stealths, and Piperunners. -Normal income of 1k per property, but additional 5k intial starting funds. Just ban black bombs.) Tiers: T0 (Broken no matter what): Hachi, Colin T1 (Strong as always): Hawke, Kanbei, Sensei, Grit, Javier T2 (Mass Damage Galore): Drake, Eagle, Kindle, Olaf, Nell, Sasha, Von Bolt, Sturm, Rachel T3 (Average Bunch): Andy, Lash, Max, Sami, Adder, Flak, Grimm, Jake, Jess, Jugger, Sonja. V2 Changes: Say good bye to annoying Stealth/Piperunner spam. Hard to believe, Pipe runners are actually viable here... Big nerf to the top gang, small buffs in income to the bottom crew. Added a port, and airport to each side of the map, mix things up a little, and anti-cheese. Top armies starting, and max income has been reduce, however they start with their own little army and Infantry to cap faster. No longer White Nova has a third factory...For no reason what so ever... Hope it is more balanced now, enjoy! |

So that port by RF's starting spot behind the pipe seam, it's purpose is, what exactly? Javier is probably higher than T2 for this map, if Javier can hold more than 1 com tower he jumps up in power level quite significantly. He might be up hovering around the T0.5 since there are several countries that can easily have 2 com towers. Without having played the first map, and looking at the current map, I can expect the game to be quite grindy. Even with all the airports the amount of chokepoints that ground units (and sometimes air units) have to deal with will be a real damper on the game. the sea front should have more funds than the air front. I see 9 labs, one controlled by OS, one that WN will be able to defend, one that AR can defend, 2 that won't change sides as they're right by BH's base. and 4 that are supposed to be guarded by GS and AB that they will have a real hard time defending. That's not a knock against it, but the placement could probably be reoriented to make the fighting over them more important, or require things like the allies going out of their way to get it. |

The port by RF's base is meant to mirror the map further (Left side gets one airport, so right side gets one port as well). The middle of the map is around 25 to 29 units, where most of the properties are contested (including the labs) which is why I believe we will see those contested, even in the last version of the map with tested, with the top team being so strong people still contested that area. You are right about Javier, in fact I probably always ban him for that reason. Big maps like these are grindy, that's sort of the nature of it, I've been playing 6+ player FFA/Team games, and they usually take a long time to finish, even without the chokepoints it would take some time, plus, this is structure like one of those "Final missions" from the OG AW games, thus the kind of map. And again, I do believe the 4 middle labs are contestable, depending on which side beats the other, I actually measured this somewhat, say the factory between GS/IC, or the one between AB/PC, it takes 3 turns for an APC+ Infantry to reach the base, while the top countries would need to build a tank to be able to defend it with time, which can be countered by another tank, which they can then send air/navy etc, I've seen so far people outplay the other side, I guess regardless it is about testing, so I would like to see more results within time, and if it is needed, I will try and make a V3 of the map. I'd also say grit is more likely tier 0 as well as javier, I'm playing a game now as black hole against two grits, and by god i don't think its possible for any CO (mine being Von Bolt) to actually fight that apart from javier with his defences or maybe colin and hachi. I can only really speak for the centre engagement, but its either a very tank or artillery spamming map, also white nova seems far more vulnerable than acid rain, just from the layout of the pipes. Also from what i've seen from how the sides seem to work, as soon as a player leaves on one of the sides, say for instance red fire, once jade sun takes all of the properties that red fire had, they suddenly have as much as the opposing side, PLUS an extra player in Pink cosmos. Thats happened in my game on every front, one person leaves and then the other takes their properties and destabilises the balance, I haven't struggled as much in the centre because of how many properties I have. I have a feeling this map slightly favours the south over the north side, but that could be a biased point of view, nevertheless this is a fun map, just hoping to make any future players aware of the problems i have at least faced when playing this map |
