MartinNikolai (07/31/2022 12:49am | Edited: 08/26/2022 09:31pm):
In 1759, Major-General James Wolfe, in command of approximately 5,000 regulars, led a successful campaign on the plains of Abraham against Louis-Joseph de Montcalm's roughly equal force. In the ensuing battle, both Wolfe and Montcalm were gravely wounded, but the British forces had routed the French. After the eventual capture of Quebec, the fate of Canada had been all but guaranteed, with surrender at Montreal to follow the next year. But this is history. Take control of the French and Indian forces as Montcalm to try to change the historical outcome, or play as Wolfe and take Quebec for the Crown! Changelog: -August 1, 2022: added a timer by making a mech to break through to capture the British HQ. Will be edited based on games played on the map. -August 11, 2022: Changed mech unit to an infantry unit. Should take at minimum 20 days to break through, though more likely it will take approximately 45 days. Again, will be edited based on games played on the map. Also, recommended to ban the following units: Medium Tanks, Neotanks, Cruisers, Submarines, Rockets, Carriers. For history's sake, you can also choose to ban tanks and only use Infantry, Mechs, and Scouts as melee troops, with Artillery as support. -August 26, 2022: Added a capturable base to the village east of Quebec and to the northern forest (the first simulates Canadian militia which could be recruited from the eastern villages, and the second simulates French-allied Indian tribes which contributed to the defense of Quebec). Also, players should ban building battleships, and instead, battleships have been provided to each side to start. Due to the nature of the map and historical considerations (The French defeat at Quiberon Bay), the British fleet starts out much larger to allow for early pushes. Fog of War is now recommended. The timer has been changed to be a pool of resources that the British player is guaranteed, and players should set a 40-day timer. At the end of 40 days, if the British have not captured Quebec, the French player wins. |
