GE and YC are at a slight disadvantage as every other is able to get to an uncontested base set in a turn while they need an extra turn to do so or they go into conflict with GS and AC

Agreed. Yellow and green have to take 2 turns to get a safe base to start. Also why so many
labs??

Labs are there to prevent a stealthy HQ capture without having to lock them behind pipes or something similar. when there are
no HQs on the map then labs function as HQs, but instead of losing when one is taken, you lose when you control no labs. so
basically labs allow you to establish a pseudo HQ.

y'all are right about the GE and YC disadvantage, i'll change that in the next version
