| Turbo86 (08/17/2022 01:54am): Just like my first level "Narrow Margins", "Narrow Passages" has distinct areas (players' island, mainland "?" base, mountain city area and the central pathway. This map also utilizes Pipe Seams and a Missile to create a more dynamic playing experience and has some areas which veteran players will be able utilize in regular play or fog of war. Players' Island has 3 bridges that leads directly to 3 different fronts on the mainland. It is easy to reinforce a front, but switching from one front to another becomes more difficult once you have passed the bridges. The mainland "?" base is quickly accessible from the players' island, with the Pipes shielding units from attack but restricting movement (initially, there are Pipe Seams that can be broken, this time easily accessible for opposing players). The mountain city area can be profitable if infantry/mechs make it beyond the mountains, offering shelter from direct vehicles, but leaving them vulnerable to ranged and aerial attacks. This area slightly favors one of the players, but may prove tricky to keep hold of. The central pathway holds the comm towers, but the primary design was to allow this area to become a bit of a wildcard area - will it be used to surround an enemy "?" base with range units, will it result in stand-offs in the center as there is no cover for those who enter first, will units pass each-other cautiously with more important goals in mind, or will alliances be formed to take out a common enemy (and will those alliances last)? I hope everyone enjoys this map and I look forward to watching the replay(s)! |
