Road Islands has a strong side versus a weak side (north/south), with the weak side primarily responsible for holding the Comm Tower, but failure to secure the nearby Harbors on the eastern/western islands could prove just as costly! The central island is highly profitable (eight cities) but also highly volatile as the only route is from a single bridge or via Lander/Blackboat. There is no cover from mountains and a lot of the island is covered in roads, there are cities and forests that can be used to improve defense, but it only take a few well-placed Battleships (from all sides) and Rockets (eastern/western islands) can make a prolonged stay there very costly. Having experimented with another map of mine called Narrow Navy, there are a handful of places where Blackboats/Landers can reach shallow waters and be safe from Submarines, including the narrow passage way between the weak side and eastern/western islands.
