Turbo86 (08/27/2022 08:37pm):
Designed to be balanced enough for eight players to enjoy, Seagull Geightway is four modified versions of another map I created called "Supply Lines". Each player will begin with a well developed but small stronghold (HQ, Factories, Airport and Harbor, mostly linked by roads) on their side of an island with a vast coastline. Between the neighboring armies is an inlet, with the neutral area being far less developed (plains, dense forest, some mountains and a river). The river creates a small area which is inaccessible to ground units, so Infantry/Mechs may need air support to allow them to secure these properties. The players share a Lab each on a small island called "dog island", allowing for some security from HQ capture should the players decide to form a truce. To generate tension, this island is home to a Comm Tower and is not out of reach from other players... Not far from the players stronghold is another potential tension point; a small island (which I call income island) is shared with another player, with both strongholds in close proximity, particularly the Harbors. Income island is responsible for each players initial income, with the six cities shared evenly. Not much else to say on the face of it, but this island may prove to be of far greater importance than the six cities would suggest. The remaining area is the neutral island. Unlike "Supply Lines", there are no Airports or Harbors as their inclusion would leave them far too close to each-other and player strongholds. Instead, this island holds eight Factories (one each potentially), each of which is exposed to nearby Air and Naval units and fairly close to other Factories. Will players form alliances or truces with their neighbors on the mainland or those that they share income island with? Will agreements be made between distant armies to squeeze out a mutual enemy and share the spoils of war? Will these agreements and truces continue as armies venture onto the neutral territory? Hope everyone enjoys the map :) |
