got chicken? (06/13/2006 07:02am):
I hate all crappy maps like these. It' always either a Kanbei Megatank fest or a Sami mech fest. Plus it's unfair to all the players in the middle as they'll be squished. I hate these maps, there's too many of them, stop making them please, everyone. |

It's amazing the lack of thought put into some of the comments on here. Maps like this can be great team games if you'll take the time and try different things out. Some of the smallish maps on this same slant are excellent for quick games. So what if Kanbei or Sami are the COs of choice? Ban them if it's that big of a deal, but don't tell people to stop being creative with maps because you can't be creative enough to play them! As for this map, I'll give it a 6/10 because there's not quite enough room to move around as in some of the other maps of this sort. Great attempt, though. |

Yeah, maps where all you have to do is make six to twelve blocks of plains and put a base and HQ on each one of them is so creative. This isn't creative. All this map is is eight bases and eight HQ's, it isn't creative nor challenging. In a FFA in a game like this it just comes down to who gets picked on the most, who goes first (because of the MASSIVE FTA), and who can churn out more mechs or Megatanks. If you love this map so much why did you give it a six? And if the maps so good why does it have a three and a half out of six ratings? Exactly. |

I agree with got chicken?, this kind of maps have no strategical interest, I hate these. |

Wow, people really never cease to amaze me. Lack of thought, lack of intelligence in some cases, and in this case, apparently a lack of literacy. I stated in my initial comment exactly why I gave it a 6 out of 10. I also never stated that I "loved this map so much." I simply stated that the small free-for-all maps "are excellent for quick games." Show me where I'm wrong with that statement. As to your other question, got chicken, if you can do some simple math, you'll figure out why it has a three and a half out of six ratings... try again now. Guess what? Now it's a 3.27 out of 11 rating! Oh, my, that must mean that my general comments about the style of map were all wrong. Open your mind up and realize that you don't possess the only opinion in the world. Just because you can't see the value in something doesn't mean that it doesn't possess any. Enough said. |

"Open your mind up and realize that you don't possess the only opinion in the world." Kirby sez "Right back at ya". "I simply stated that the small free-for-all maps "are excellent for quick games."" Quick games with 8 players? I doubt that. Also: FTA. 'Can't get rid of it. Also: If the creator actually put thought/time into this map, said creator would have remade it on a much smaller map so it wouldn't have all the pointless sea spaces to make it look big. "Just because you can't see the value in something doesn't mean that it doesn't possess any. Enough said." Also: This is why artists starve: Their works aren't good AND they aren't going to make anything else because they can't believe that said works are not good. |

Fifteen years later, and obsidian has become the lost pariah. But this map is just a diplomacy game at the very best. |
