“Red Sands, Blue Tides” In the year 2035, Earth’s intrepid Martian explorers stumbled upon a revelation that would ignite interplanetary tensions. Beneath the rusted dunes of the Red Planet lay a hidden treasure: water—pure, crystalline, and coveted. The United Nations Mars Expedition had barely drilled a few meters when the geiger counters went wild. The crew, clad in silver jumpsuits and bubble helmets, stood agog as the drill bit struck liquid. Water, the elixir of life, gushed forth—a shimmering oasis in the arid wasteland. News of the discovery echoed across the solar system. Earth’s superpowers—still recovering from the Atomic Wars—eyed Mars with avaricious intent. The United States Space Corps planted Old Glory next to the Martian spring, while the Soviet Cosmonauts raised the hammer and sickle. But the Martians—those enigmatic beings who’d retreated underground centuries ago—had other plans. Their ancient glyphs spoke of a pact with the water spirits, guardians of the aquifer. “This water,” declared Musk, “is not for the warmongers of Earth. It belongs to Mars—the cradle of our new civilization.” And so began the Martian Water War. Rocket ships clashed in crimson skies, laser beams slicing through the thin atmosphere. The UN and the Soviet Union fought for control, while the Martians defended their sacred springs. Amidst the chaos, a love story unfolded: Captain John “Cosmic” Carter, a dashing astronaut, fell for Sira, the newly appointed Martian princess. Their forbidden romance bridged the cosmic divide, but could love quench the thirst of nations? As the Martian sands soaked with blood, the water whispered secrets: of lost civilizations, ancient astronauts, and the cosmic dance of destiny. In the end, the Martian High Priestess invoked the spirits. The water surged, swallowing rockets and ambitions alike. The Red Sands turned to Blue Tides, and Earth’s armies retreated. And so, the Martian waters flowed—a reminder that in the vastness of space, humanity was but a fleeting ripple. Stay tuned for the next thrilling installment of “Red Sands, Blue Tides”—where ray guns spark, rocket ships soar, and love blooms against the backdrop of the cosmos |

Symmetry issue, (18, 0) should be a empty silo. Probably not a big deal, but I don't think that was intentional. |

Update, The martian landscape has been terraformed and more pioneers have arrived. This time, an interlaced network of shared interests has arisen from the once barren landscape. In short, new corporate holding companies have come to take their slice of the bacon. (Located on the outer-cardinal directions.) The natives (inner-corner armies) are nearly as well-established as the corporate entities, and each have their respective corporate sponsor. They face both greater risks and opportunities as their exposure to the Muskian Martian Economic Zone provides them more options to adapt to the actions of their benefactors should they fail to play ball. Likewise, each corporation has many tricks up their sleeves as well! Corporate players may leverage diplomacy, access to finances, deterrence, and employ covert means to threaten the livelihoods of the natives with a covert sneak-attacks should relations ever deteriorate. The question remains, who will you side with to win this "Doge-Eat-Doge" game of survival? |
