[Standard][Fog][2v2: BD & WN VS. TG & AR] Seven thousand years ago, two warring, spacefaring civilizations (TG, WN) visited this primitive world. Drawn to the planet by the potent, naturally charging electromagnetic signature emitting from this particular leyline, they sought to harness it to turn the tides of their war. However, after an incident occurred during the race to harness the raw power, the leyline was prematurely discharged and emptied. Both sides suffered many losses caused by the event and were forced to withdraw. Supercomputers calculated the leyline to reach harvestable levels once again in... seven thousand years. If a structure gating the energies could be placed onto the leyline's locus, volatility would be reduced by up to 99%. Afterwards, channeling the energy would be a simple task. It would mean control of an invaluable weapon. It would mean victory. However, not a single resource could be spared to stay on planet after the devastating discharge. The rival fleets would need time to recover, and the surviving forces would be sent back to protect their respective homeworlds. Galactic conflicts take the span of millennia, with minor skirmishes going as long as decades. Given these timelines, the natives (BD, AR) were instructed by the gods to construct elaborate temples, each according to their design, protect them, and await their return. Though the native peoples did not understand the purpose of these temples, they went to work brick by brick, stone by stone. * * * * * Today, the temples have stood the test of time, the leyline is charged, and the gods have returned. |
