Hey all! This is my first map and I hope it is balanced (I know... Who doesn't?!). The idea behind this map is to have varied fronts (land, sea, air) between each neighbouring faction following the diagonals of the map. Another front between the four factions would be at the center for the control of towers. Ideally, that would allow good synergy between naval, air and land units, also hopefully, balancing different COs. This map is intended to be played with Fog of War (FoW). Hopefully forests and reefs provide "interesting" indirect unit battles while granting the possibility to hide in the FoW and launch a surprise landing or just get a good vision spot. For FTA, I just provided a T-copter for each faction but place further away from each HQ. Since only a T-copter can allow for expansion, I hope it makes sense. I am really bad at FTA mitigation so please advise for something better! Please try it and tell me about FTA or any obvious advantage to any CO. Any feedback is welcomed! Good luck! |

Background: Since millions of years ago, when this old volcano's caldera collapsed and let the water in, the Target islands have been shrouded in fog and mysteries. Naturally, the fauna and flora adpated, creating a rich ecosystem and soon the first settlers came. They were poor but the nature here provided for their every need. They expanded within the islands, setting different tribes and trading with each others. Using pebbles and small seashells as currency, they quickly turned to a much rarer and strange material. It was a dense and hard metal that is also transparent in a weird way. If you were to hold a coin made of this material in your hand, you would see through it as if there was a hole in your very own hand! For thousands of years this metal had been used for trading when a powerful individual (most likely a sort of king according to the legend) asked for all coins to be brought back to him for "accounting" purposes. Soon enough, the king asked his most talented smith to melt the coins and make him a suit of armour out of it. Right after, the king disappeard in its suit of invisibility, never to be seen ever again... Nowadays, those peacecul islands have grown economically and only the legend of this invisibility armour remains from those past times. Archeologists come and go, unravelling the past life of the first settlers, their habits and cultural beliefs... Until one day an exploring team found the body of the king and its armour while walking at the entrance of a small cave, searching for cave paintings in a new area. The leader tripped and fell on flat ground and soon everyone had a laugh about him... until everyone else also tripped at the exact same spot, right on the armour! Eager for international fame, the team publish their discovery and soon the world knew that this material is not a legend anymore. But what if there were more? What if the settlers only collected the pebbles they could find on the beaches, here and there, after thousands and thousands of years? There should certainly be more to be mined both on land and at the bottom of the sea? Can you imagine all the uses for that material? For science, of course but also... for WAR! Today, in the fog covered Target islands, starts the war that will shape the future of what might be world domination. Your nation counts on you, Soldier! |
