Just to confirm, teams are Orange, Yellow, and Black VS Blue, Green, and Red? The FTA
counter doesn't make sense otherwise.
Shoop_92 (03/14/2024 10:45pm):
Just finished a 3v3 Fog game on this map, overall it worked really nicely! We played left side vs right side, or ABABAB teams.
Interestingly, the bottom left and top right corners were eliminated at almost the exact same turn, so there may be a veeeery
slight weakness in those positions. They didn't fall until turn 35 or so though so I don't think the imbalance is all that noticeable.
Overall a very enjoyable map for team play

KatLab (https://awbw.amarriner.com/profile.php?username=KatLab) broadcast a map
comment during a match I organized here, and I think it's relevant so I'm pasting it
below:

"I didn't want to start a rant from the very beginning because I was hoping that the
significance of it would turn out to be far lesser than expected, but this map has a
really awkward balancing issue.
Three FTA counter units belong all to one team and even the order in which turns are
taken does not justify that. While it may have been weird to the very first player to
move having a "FTA" counter, this seems more reasonable when having an isolated
look on the fronts where battles are expected to be taken: Clearly - for each team - one
player is sandwiched between to opponent that are closing in on him. BM in the top vs.
GE and RF; WN vs. BH and YC in the bottom. And while these isolated matches have
the same turn order (A,B,B (top); B,A,A (bottom)), in both cases it's Team B ending up
with a FTA counter unit. What this essentially means is that from the start of each
round, team B is half a turn ahead to attack in the top and half a turn ahead to defend
in the bottom."
Meta Rexy (06/14/2024 08:53am | Edited: 06/14/2024 08:54am):
Note that the above comment was made during a game with mixed teams (OS + YC +
BH vs BM + GE + RF). However, I believe these issues are not improved with unmixed
teams (left VS right as Shoop_92 states) because then the FTA counter makes even
less sense.

If you have ideas on how to improve the fta im all ears. teams are indeed supposed to sandwhich middle players.
Velerium (11/17/2024 01:44am):
I disagree with the opinion that only one player per team is sandwiched between enemies, any
two armies can gang up on the one they surround: the water separating the two halves is barely
a nuisance to that end.
If you really wanted to change FTA, as inconsequential as that is on such a large map, maybe
only give an infantry to BH and RF?
They're on two different teams, and are the last ones to act. Also symmetry!
Again, I don't think it's important, and the map is perfectly playable and fun as is.
Nice job, man!
