Update of the original map created by excomotive https://awbw.amarriner.com/prevmaps.php?maps_id=62613 Original Introduction: excomotive (Slightly reworded) --- You thought all those fairy tales you read in your "Holy Books" were true? Ha! Guess again. Kindness and mercy are for the meek. Strong Gods rule with an iron fist and demand sacrifices from their subjects. Fail to deliver upon my demands and you shall feel my wrath! Two nations at war now call upon my aid to bring victory... but 'twill not be so simple. I demand tributes of Blood and Metal. Soul and Fuel. Only the one who can prove they are more devoted in their worship shall have their nation see the dawns of the future. The Sacrosanct Commandments are thus... [1] The Orange Star player is the "Divine Player" [2] The other players are the "Mortal Players" [3] The "Divine Temple" is the dense group of neutral properties encircled by the Divine Player's troops [4] The "Sacrificial Pit" is the empty Missile Silo tile inside the Divine Temple [5] The "Portal" is the Base owned by the Divine Player inside the Divine Temple [6] A "Holy Site" is a Port the Divine Player owns with a submarine on it [7] The Divine Player may demand a sacrifice from both Mortal Players, which must be placed on the Sacrificial Pit by a certain Day set by the Divine Player. On that Day the Divine Player destroys the sacrifice [8] The Divine Player MAY grant a reward for a sacrifice made by a Mortal Player [9] Mortal Players may offer additional sacrifices or a greater sacrifice to increase their reward [10] The Divine Player may reward both, or only one Mortal Player, depending on their sacrifices [11] The Mortal Players who's sacrifice does not arrive, or is delayed, will be punished [12] When one Mortal Player is eliminated, the Divine Player must Draw with the surviving Mortal Player Please the Divine Player, and the Mortal Player may be rewarded with... - Capturing one or more Cities within the Divine Temple - Capturing one or more Comm Towers within the Divine Temple - The blessing of Aeronautical Technology within the Divine Temple - The blessing of Advanced Technology within the Divine Temple (if playing with Lab Units) - The Divine Player smiting their opponent with one or more Missiles - The Divine Player sending one or more Avatars through their Portal to fight alongside the Mortal Player's forces - Capturing the Portal for the Mortal Player's own use - Capturing a Holy Site for the Mortal Player's own use - The Divine Player revealing the position and type of enemy units (if playing with Fog) - Anything else both the Divine and Mortal Player agrees upon Cross the Divine Player, and you can kiss your only life goodbye. What will you sacrifice to win? --- Patch Notes - Now featuring more Divine Intervention [1] Expanded the "Divine Temple" to include more Cities and a Lab. Removed Missile Silos [2] Added Empty Missile Silo inside the Divine Temple to act as the official "Sacrificial Pit" [3] Expanded the number of Missiles available to the Divine Player [4] Added the "Portal" inside the Divine Temple. Adjusted Divine Player Bases, HQ, and Units accordingly [5] Added APCs next to the submarines of the Divine Player [6] To make room for the APCs in the middle, one Destructible Pipe and one Shoal has been removed on each side [7] Cleaned up the area in front of each HQ to look nicer on the eyes [8] Shifted cities on the strong side of each player in order to create capture chains for more consistent income [9] Replaced Green Earth to the left, Blue Moon to the right, to make sure their units "face the right direction" |

Reserved General Notes / Pro Tips - Always keep an Infantry (or 2) in the Divine Temple (or close by) to capture properties that will be rewarded to you when you submit a Tribute to the Divine Player. Otherwise, the rewards you are entitled to will be delayed. They are quite powerful and will help "rebalance" the Unit and Funds you lose during the Tribute. Patch Notes - To Be Added when there are no Active Games on this Map Patch Notes - October 14th 2023 [1] Added FTA Counter for Green [2] Placed Red Submarines on Ports, thus adding "Holy Sites". Removed APCs [3] Gave Red a Lab and some Comm Towers [4] Added shoals on both sides of the Red Submarines in top center and bottom center |

You could also place the Divine Player's subs on docks so you don't need to mess with the APCs |
|
Ghancc (09/20/2023 10:45am):
I like that idea. Those Docks can act as holy sites or something that can't be touched anyway. It would help clean up the map as well. There are also possible new reward features because of that. |

Really fun if you play with the right people, you have to balance the war funds, and those you save up for big rewards from the God player. I started making strategies centered around what would be best to spend for each sacrifice and when to send it. This and the RP games i've played, really brought a new light to the gameplay and community of awbw. |

funny idea but the end game is moot in practice. Needs an apotheosis route so Blue or Green can potentially team up against the divine and risk annihilation for the chance of an overthrow. Also it would give Red an incentive to get involved (Hey, get away from the firmament! That's off limits!) |

This map is engineered so that the god cannot be defied. How do you deal an army of unreachable 4COM tower rockets? |
