To the people who keep on rating it 1: Could you possibly explain please?

(you don't get notified if someone comments here, which is a bit of a shame)

If I had to guess the low ratings (not that ratings really affect anything),
there's a common "meta" list people expect for 1v1 maps nowadays.
The issues you have is:
- Terrain variety is "boring" (clumped up mountain ranges, forests flooding the centre)
(mind you, most 1v1 maps look identical to me, so I appreciate the throwback to
the big ol' mountain ranges in the games)

- Essentially no real action/contestable areas.
Both sides are basically keeping their side of the river leading to a stalemate, the standard infantry+indirect spam.
+ you can easily fix this by bringing the labs/HQs/comm towers forward,
and add a few more cities between the rough line on either side.
Most early map design, especially any map from the games, suffered from having safe HQs, leading to forced
rout/domination. So the modern take to bring them forward and exposed can pretty much create
thousands of map ideas for you.

- kinda chokepointy. You have a 3 bridge in the north and south at least, but you should be able to see it would be pretty
hard to push in (but there's no real reason to since there's no properties along the river).
+ reduce the forests and sprinkle some cities or summat.

I do like simplistic maps like this, but you do have to double check how it's actually going to play out.
Most people can't be arsed to say anything here anymore, so i hope this helps.
