This map favors P2 in my opinion : On the airport base there's three directions for capture so you need three infanteries. Except on that side, the D3 recon has a lot of value because it's worth a contested property that is very hard to capture later in the game, the city on the edge of the map that will start getting captured on D5 if capture phase is optimal. Orange Star (P1) cannot both get the recon and get a normal capture phase whereas Blue Moon (P2) can. If no recon then the tank order is normal with P2 getting the first tank then BAAB. If both player open recon then the tank order heavily favors Blue Moon (P2) again => BABA If one player opens recon and the other doesn't, the recon can deny the contested property on D5 then either get a hit before a tank can show up or if the opponent doesn't attempt to capture, frontshift in a single turn and deny another contested property on the other front (the property adjacent to the mountain and the shoal). With so little income, the ability to deny one or even two contested property is simply too strong, a recon opening half wins the game for P2 The map would be nice if this issue could be fixed. Pleasing to the eye, lots of contested properties. Since there's not a lot to begin with it means that early fighting will see players have to work with very very low income though |

I think the most problematic line is simply rushing the silo city pair with p2's very first infantry. Imo, even if this is fixed, the map doesn't work very well. The silo city pair is the main thing to fight over. If they're handshaked - I don't see very many interesting moves. If players fight over them, TA is practically unavoidable because of the super short base distance. I think the heavy terrain from the silos & 0T lucks rolls exacerbates this further. |
