This map is cute, but it’s full of issues. Sami should be banned as this map is, because if your opponent does not immediately play defensively, they lose day 3-5. The only counterplay is to counterpick with Jess or Grimm to ensure you dislodge the HQ cap, anyone who can’t deal 7 damage to that infantry in one turn instantly loses. Also, while I get that the idea is “The HQ so close presents you with metagaming: do you stay and defend the HQ, potentially losing properties? Do you let the HQ be lightly defended because your opponent will also play defensively? Or, do you put pressure on the HQ, because they may have lightly defended it.” HOWEVER, and a big one at that, the ONLY answer is to defend the HQ, even if it takes a few extra days to get rolling. You flat out lose the game if you don’t, especially against Sami. So, that leads me to the dilemma, because both players can’t risk getting capped, both play exactly the same: slowly sending infantry and mechs out to cap the bases and properties, going opposite each other protected by a recon or 2 because they are super OP on this map and the only way to defend your HQ and them, and MAYBE duking it out for the comm tower, until finally, after like 10 days, you come back to the frontline and play the game like any other map. All I’m saying is, it’s just redundant, there is no real skill involved. The player who plays defensively will 100% win, because a back capping player will sacrifice too many resources to get a cheeky win. I would personally either move the bases to be a 2 base, 1 base 1 airport situation on opposite sides, and if not, just move them further back. The HQ definitely needs to be further away. I don’t mind that Recons are super good, cause I like em, but if that’s an issue for you, just cut some of the roads up with forests or something. Also insanely OP Lash Map if you play T3 and defensively so 10/10 from me. |

Sami is just too strong and too cheesy right now. Sami is pigeon-holing CO picks from the very start of the game. My next update will address the Sami HQ rush. She's just too strong. Lash is also OP but I'll figure her out later. |

I've recently added a pipeseam tile in the middle of the map. I think this helps break up the early game from Sami. I think it's also better for artillery play. |
