Infantry position is unbalanced in the corners making it unfair for orange. He will need one more turn to get his second corner base. The top left and bottom right corners are gonna see fights very quickly with 2 turns reinforcements from bases whereas the other two corners are way out of reach of both players. I think this map would be improved by moving the bases on the top and bottom maybe 5 or 6 tiles toward the empty corners (top right and bottom left) and giving them one more tile of space between the mountain and the base so that building an arty and breaking out becomes a viable strategy. As it stands, they are ripe for the taking as you can only really build infantery and mechs. You'll get mopped up by the first vehicule and locked with the first arty. It would also increase the capture phase time and make the currently empty corners more contested. I think this map could be quite messy but quite enjoyable to play with these modifications |

As I understand, orange needs this sort of infantry starting position as a first turn advantage counter |

I got ABABB tank order here; additionally, the frontline terrain could be a bit more interesting (apart from the cities, it's mostly 0%/10% def terrain). Also there might be too many Infantry units due to the abundance of bases and the slow income buildup, so combined with the rather light terrain the map could possibly stall (admittedly though that's just a hunch I have). |
