My dinky 1st attempt at a map, named after the prolonged skirmishes I ended up having around the two central rivers. Originally created for practicing against myself in preparation for AWBW after a lifetime of AI exploitation on the original games, this map just grew out of trying to insert some semi- realistic bits like rivers flowing out of mountains and road networks connecting cities. All feedback welcome! |

I don't think MC (Map Committee) like open sea/plain tiles clumped up together. 4k Starting Income favor P1's vehicle timing / earlier tank also competitive maps need to have ABBA (or BAAB) tank orders (Player 1 build 1st tank then Player 2 build 1st tank then 2nd tank then Player 1 build 1st tank or vice versa without not using bases to build Infantry and capturing neutral base(s) first over city) Unlike AI's holdout at chokepoint, players holdout at chokepoint is almost impossible to push though (unless you have 3 : 1 units ratio) so reduce chokepoint in contested areas, especially in Fog of War because Fog of War make units invincible and harder to push unless seen This map only have 2 contested city in middle so every players just send Infantry, Tanks, B-Copters and Anti-Air into those 2 city HQ in PvP are too close to bases but not contested areas because unlike AI, players can defend HQ for days and not hang HQ like most HQ capture on campaign maps because AI destroy transports over interrupting Infantry capturing their HQ You could put islands with city to make T-copters actually useful and worth the 5000 Funds instead B-copters spam Maybe learn the tutorial on how to make competitive 1v1 map at Youtube, Forum, Discord or this site's Tutorials at Info tab |

Much appreciated! Admittedly I hadn't watched the tutorials on youtube when i first put together the map - ended up just trying to have the 3 Base 1 Airport format. Not mentioned in the first comment was also the fact that I had AAA gaming's "3 lane gameplay" in mind - I was even considering calling the map AAA Gaming for that reason! I'll need to re-examine the map and watch the Comp Map guide for now but thank you very much for the feedback! I will learn the power of not fighting AI eventually :D |
