It feels like this map has a lot of dead space, thanks to the terraining. The sea is largely useless, as the port is blocked by shoals from contributing to fighting. A lander wouldn't even help, because the bases by the pipes are restricted to infantry and piperunners only, thanks to the mountains. You can't even use indirects to threaten units across the sea because the paths on the edges of the map are wide enough to fit an entire army through (plus more mountains). Meanwhile, the airport is super strong here, thanks to the ability to threaten multiple bases and fronts from the sea (or behind the silly row of mountains), or cross the center without difficulty, without being slowed by the pipes due to the pipe seam conveniently placed beside the airport. I'd prefer that the pipes be removed in favour of opening up the sea, or give the corner bases access to a port and the sea so that they can better defend against the airport. Better yet, move the pipes to protect the corner base rather than using those mountains. |
