The only thing i can think to make this better is to have the pipes actually do something.
with the way they are now the people who are playing will simply ignore them/not break
them. Good terrain variety, no FTA, balanced map, and a river that doesnt ruin the whole map.

Hmm... I took out the pointless uncapturable ports and added the labs. Don't make something
major (like tanks or artilleries or infantries) the lab units, though. I'd recommend mechs,
Md.Tanks, or rockets instead.

Well balanced map, good design. I like the com towers on the islands and the river that
separates the two sides.

Yeah, the port's pretty much useless except for making bboats so you can get to the corner
lands. It might be of some use, though, if you set all air units to lab units.
