Aren't the BBoats supposed to be swapped? |
RedFlower (02/19/2025 07:15am):
Yeah subs are supposed to be recons to prevent them from becoming missile bait |

Yeah, I'd either swap the subs with Recons or put the subs at 1 HP so they cannot draw Rachel/VB missiles. Also I'm not sure if there are enough contested properties since each player should be able to grab 2 of the city pairs (unless maybe if the other player opens weak side Recon or possibly with other specific openings - but Recons seem to be the way to go early game to not let the other player get so many properties). I'm not entirely convinced that this map works well in Fog - I might be wrong tho. B-ranking for now since I think it could still use a few tweaks. EDIT: Re-Newed after changes |

This changes quite a bit when it comes to infantry, No longer are they safe in mountains |

2nd review: - I think vision is too plentiful overall, with the Sub + 1 HP Recon you can more or less spy on all three of the opponent's bases - and you're spying on the airport as well. Maybe change the Sub to a 1HP Cruiser (on a reef?) so it just spies on one of the 2b bases - there should still be some degree of uncertainty here IMO. - The property layout is still problematic IMO as none of the city chains look to be contestable unless you utilize specific builds (though the opponent will see it coming due to the spies, so maybe they're just not readily contestable period). I haven't played the original map in a while but I do seem to remember that contesting these chains is way easier there. So overall I think this is still B-rank, although it definitely is interesting. |

Changed the subs to cruisers and removed the 1 hp recons, city layout is exactly the same as the original so all openers transfer over |

I think the nerfed spies improve things a bit - trying this out in A-rank might have some merit now. Let's see if it works. (Also adding 'Under Review' for now to get more test games.) |
