As a level 51 mage who served 18 deployments in the great wizard war, dependancy upon a tool to focus your magic is an
indicator of incompetency. Your mind alone is all you really need to harness your mana, staffs and wands are training wheels.
It's also a beginner's mistake not to apply physical enhancement to yourself, that will make the difference between life and
death.
