I think that the Com Tower corners are maybe too secure if the 2b doesn't contest them immediately. So if the 1b1a gets the corners, then there very likely are a lot of ways for this to stall. Maybe the shoal/sea area around (20,13) could be replaced with heavier terrain so the 2b can threaten the Com Tower from there, even if it's later in the game.

Overall B+ IMO.

I think you are missing the point of Monty's criticism.

He wasn't saying the commtower HAS to be contested. What he said was that the map could stall because the bottom right and top left corners are too safe. Having the commtower be contestable is just one way to fix that.
