The Missile forces an early Rocket which just serves to limit opening variety IMO - if you buy the Rocket at the earliest point where it makes sense, you can still use the airports immediately if you follow regular cap routes. So the Missile doesn't even delay air units for players who want to use the airports. EDIT: Re-Newed after changes |

2nd review: I think I still found an optimal, cost-effective solution for the Missile setup - you just need an Arty and a Mech. Load the Mech into the Lander, place the Arty on (03,14) and then the Missile has to move and allow the Mech to land on the harbor or it will get shot at by the Arty. Using that you could potentially get rid of the Missile before capping the airports even if you delay the Arty and Mech to build a bunch of Infantries first. IIRC you told me you wanted to try a Carrier setup here - I think that could work better as the Carrier has an easier time evading range units and requires more of an investment to get rid of. That would make that aspect of the map more interesting at least. |
