I liked it, but Kori hated this map. So a 5/10 |

So I think this one's somewhat interesting but has a few problems IMO (some of these probably aren't easily fixable). The 1b is quite weak even though it is able to grab a few contested properties early. But it has so many captures around it that every vehicle build hurts your income quite a bit. The BBoat is a trap IMO as destroying it early doesn't help that much since moving Infs forward is probably not what you want to do with that base (and building early Arty hurts your income as stated before). In fact, that river tile is actually problematic because it's a very good spot for the opponent to attempt a Copter lock from (so deleting your own BBoat to do that actually makes sense later). The neutral base also is a bit weak vehicle-wise as building these from the preowned base should be better most of the time (due to the sea tile cluster that forces any units built from there to just go downwards). Otherwise, I think this will very likely turn into an HQ race seeing how easily the airport can reinforce the 2b (and it probably should do so to attempt the Copter lock). But with the current setup the 1b might actually fall before the HQ sometimes. Still, I like this, but it needs a few changes to be A-rank material IMO. The river tile could just be turned into a pipe maybe to give that base some more protection in the early/mid game. The airport could maybe be slightly nerfed with pipes so Copters cannot sit in the middle so easily but actually have to commit more to one side. I'm also unsure about the harbors (especially the one near the HQ) but I suppose a BShip drop would be hype. EDIT: Re-Newed after changes 2nd review: The 1b might still be a bit too weak but I'm A-ranking it for now - we'll see how it goes. |
