I really like the scale of this map, it really does feel like an ocean. It inspires thoughts of big naval battles. That said, air seems to rule here. The two airports allow you to get air out easily and because you cannot effectively use vehicles in the middle, t-copters are a better choice than landers. When pushing the enemy's island base, getting vehicles is also not very practical because of the long distance and lack of middle staging area. Your own base islands are also cumbersome to get units to. The ports nearest to the comm tower connected by a shoal are incapable of getting anything out except for landers and black boats. There's other things I could say too but here's some suggestions: add lots of shoals. Take away 1 airport. Redesign base islands and unblock ports. Perhaps move the "pipe seam islands" elsewhere. Move the labs off of the base islands to the three port island and have it just be one lab replacing the center port. Add a base or two to the three port island. Only one port on each middle island. Two ports in the middle. Bases and bridges on the side islands, perhaps with a couple ghost ports per side to repair naval craft. Perhaps change the shoal patterns as well. I can't think of much else at the moment. Despite everything, the map is interesting. |
