It's Pangaea with one safe property removed from each of Blue Moon, Yellow Comet, Jade Sun, and Cobalt Ice. See https://awbw.amarriner.com/analysis.php?maps_id=117322 for why. |

With such a small sample size of games, looking at winrate is not accurate or relevant for determining balance. Cobalt Ice looks really weak imo. |

Here are the actual probability distributions involved. This is Beta(1+k, 1+N−k), the probability distribution of the actual underlying win rate given that we observed k wins for whichever player out of a total of N games: https://files.catbox.moe/qaopcf.png I don't really know the magnitude of "taking away one city" in terms of altering that distribution; it might be doing way too much or way too little. But certainly it's safe to say that this number of samples is enough to determine which are the teams that should be nerfed. (With Jade Sun as debatable I guess; looking at the actual distributions I gave them back one mildly-contested city.) (Edit: Also, having fought against Cobalt Ice on this map on their western front, I can say that having that little 1-tile corridor with multiple choke points on one of their fronts, so they can devote full resources to another side to get a comm tower and some nice properties when everyone else they're fighting there is probably fighting multiple opponents, is an advantage. This all is not a criticism of the original map; it actually seems incredibly well-balanced given how challenging it would be to balance this type of map. Just saying that, also, even still there are some particular players who wound up in stronger positions.) |
