First time making a map. So it's probably not very good I'm finding it hard to vary terrain. And any suggestions would definetly help. |

Well, I'm not much of a rater, so... I won't rate, and just comment. First, I like the situation, and how you can make a choice. Go for the quick route through the forest, or take the long way but get buildings. I also like the small routes up north, which provides the same kind of set-up! It can also set up some nasty situations, where if one route is undefended, the opponent can take advantage of it and do some extreme damage! Now, I'm no expert, but if you could get indirects onto those cities, you could just slaughter anything coming through pretty easily (don't know if they can go through forests, though). Also, it seems to me that Blue could have easier control of the south than Red, seeing how both the factories are so close to the cities in the forest. Apart from that, I can't really see much else wrong here! Like I said, I'm not much of a rater, but there's my unexperienced two cents... |

BM has a slight advantage getting to cities and stuff, but only slightly. And as atnTiko said, the BM will also get control of the south cities. Also, the north west area will be very easily kept, as there are places to build units, and there are chokepoints. Right now, it's a 6 from me. |

It's certinally not the best map out there, but it's way better than some. I'll hold back my strict inner critic since this is your first time to make a map. First of all, you did an OK job in varying the terrain. There's lots of maps out there with absolutely no reefs, woods, mountains, or roads. The only thing you're missing is roads. You can't put in reefs; there's no ocean. So don't worry about that. Your map is actually pretty darn good for a first map. I have only two suggestions for you: 1. Add a few roads around the north part of the mountains. The southern woods are fine roadless, however. Without roads, it's heck for recons, rockets, and missles, which can only move at most 4, 2, and 2 spaces over plains, respectively. 2. Add two or three cities, maybe even a base, in the southern woods. Only one city down there makes north a natural movement choice. Again, overall, not a bad map. There are people that have made at least ten maps, none as good as this. Keep up the good work and the sanity. 8/10 |

Good map! But I suggest move the lowest red base up one square. That way you it's useful to build an apc and infantry at the same turn (like it is for blue now). |
