peter91 Maps (11/04/2006 04:06am):
I was inspired by chess problems when I made this map. I like chess, and I like chessproblems, so then I decided to make an AW problem, and this is the result. OS wins. There's only one good beginning turn for OS, and you need to find that. If you found the answer, please don't put it here, so other people will get the chance at solving it without seeing your answer. Please tell me if you liked it and if I should make more, once you completed it. |

EDIT: On second thought... it seems impossible for OS to win. |

________________________________________________________________ --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ── Spoilers ── --- --- --- --- --- ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ▬ Alert Spoilers! (don't say I didn't warn you) A systematical solution based off the assumption of an Andy vs Andy MU is given. OS-day-1: BM's given threat is that his neotank will be put on the HQ, and OS will have no chance of possibly wining from that point, so theres a greatly limited amount of potential movement choices. OS can't capture the BM HQ, so essentially his only possible first move is reduced to one possibilite (that blocks BM's potential defensive threat) such move is: OS-day-1: (only first move) Moves black boat to northmost shoal, and drops his to infantrys around the BM HQ on the first cities. Then he moves his other infantry(the one behind the black boat) to the area that is 2 spaces south(downward) from the BM HQ. BM-day-1: He has one logical move, his only one: he moves his neo-tank to attack both OS infantrys, (the east neotank attacking the infantry that's east from the HQ, and the other neotank attacks the other infantry -- South from the HQ). (BB is in the way of other section). Neotank V.S infantry preset mathematical calculation: +Infantry: 125% add on the defensive boost given from cities which is precisely 30% the outcome percentage of the attack is 87.5% leaving both infantrys perfectly at 1 hp. OS-day-2: leaves his to 1-hp-infantry's, and his black boat at the areas that there already at, and captures the BM HQ with his other infantry (10 hp). BM-day-2: His HQ's totally surrounded by the 2 (1hp) infantry's, and the black boat, so he can't do anything to prevent his opponent from capturing his HQ. OS-day-3: Capture the BM HQ. This puzzle is quite simple; all you need to know is a really lame stupid glitch that wasn't even ment to be on this site!! |

silentsword (11/04/2006 03:21pm):
That answer doesn't work. If OS moves as you describe, the smart thing for BM to do is to send both Neotanks against the northmost infantry. They'll kill it. OS is then forced to move one of its infantries to cover the square just vacated, while the other begins the HQ capture. The eastern Neotank will then move down two, left two, and up 1, attacking the infantry on the HQ. Remember: land units can move from shoal to shoal even if it appears that there is a stretch of water between the shoals. |
|
jhuni (11/04/2006 04:32pm):
That's OS's only possible move, so with your given move OS automatically loses. Given: OS's only choice doesn't work Prove: BM wins |
|
Hans Lemurson (11/04/2006 05:52pm):
Yes, OS cannot win. Change the plains 2E of the HQ to a forest, then OS can win. |
|
jhuni (11/04/2006 06:10pm):
I'd expect that OS could win after various people said: "OS wins," "ah, got it", "I think I got it. Great idea," and "I think I know the answer." |

It's not solvable. Your situation was illegal. (11/04/2006 05:15pm) Orange Star loaded a(n) Infantry onto a(n) Black Boat (3, 5) (11/04/2006 05:15pm) Orange Star loaded a(n) Infantry onto a(n) Black Boat (3, 5) (11/04/2006 05:18pm) Orange Star loaded a(n) Infantry onto a(n) Black Boat (3, 3) A black boat can't hold 3 units in one turn, it's clearly an illegal situation. |

keeperofthescarf (11/04/2006 10:01pm):
I'm confused... for your solution to work, the north most infantry has to have been able to move 4 spaces... Or, now that I look at it, it just uses the APC glitch. Totally unworthy of an AW puzzle. |
|
jhuni (11/04/2006 10:01pm | Edited: 11/04/2006 10:03pm):
It's an illegal situation, so if there's still no solution. Obviously illegal situation's don't count toward the possiblity of a solution. |

This map must be pretty good, and It should be inclination of such enough by how theres 25 comments, even though it's unsolvable. I'm quite sure most of us want another puzzle map. |

daytonausafan (11/05/2006 02:32am):
I don't see any other moves other than the obvious "move infantry around hq, then take it next turn... |
|
jhuni (11/05/2006 03:32pm):
Well the obvious " apc glitch " imba lame illegal situation, but hey It's still clearly good even though it's unsolvable. |

Zoot Suit (11/05/2006 04:20pm):
This is an AWBW puzzle, not an AW puzzle. |
|
jhuni (11/05/2006 06:29pm):
No it's a glitch puzzle AW:BW doesn't mean to have IMBA lame glitchs, and seriously this is totally unworthy of a AW:BW puzzle, if your just basing this whole thing off of glitchs. |

twistedsaint08 (05/19/2009 05:16pm):
It's simple, OS as sami , DAY 1, Load BB with 2 Infantry, land next to/ on the BM HQ, Take damamge from neos Start capping and combine the 2 infantry, take damage from the neos, cap,/ Combine the 3rd infantry with the already capping infantry and take damage, Final day, WIN |
