Kind of a lame name, I know. I tried to have just the right amount of plains for Jake, but enought erraining for Lash. Tips on how to improve it are welcomed. |

It looks ok to me... I might turn two of the cities into factories if it was me, 26 buildings and only four of them are factories. But, i could be wrong, and you have been 'told off' for placing too many factories before, so maybie you would be better just playing it safe... |

I think the problem here is that, having such an open map is pro tanks and anti artillery. That's fine apart from having a low number of factories is also pro tanks and anti artillery. If I were you I would keep the factories as they are but add a few more areas of interest so indirects can still play a role in the battle (maybe some rivers or something) also not being funny, but don't you think it's kind of unnaturally square for an island? I like the name though, I added it to the A-Rank list. |
DuelStriker (08/10/2007 05:17pm):
Thanks for the A-Rank! I took your advice and edited it a bit. I added some forests and small lakes. And tecnichally it's an island, I mean it's surrouned by water. :P |

I mean why are so many A ranks maps so bland? I am not picking duel, but its something a lot of maps suffer from. |

Dust Island (? dont get the name?) has some special features .... the lakes and central mountains create 3 fronts .. the central one being semi-choked will not be easily traversed and will encourage flanking . This might work out very well with plenty of movement and action for such a small map. Perhaps this explains the high 15+ days per game average. -- I think by bland, sulla means forest+cities+mountains are more or less evenly "sprinkled" around rather than in clumps or zones (including lines which look man-made). Such sprinkled maps account for around 95% of official good maps ... which i think is overpopulating .... id prefer only 50% leaving space for more diverse and alternative maps such as Duels "Battle Arena" |
