I think you made an error in the symmetry here- note the land bridges in the lower-left area.
Hellraider (11/30/2007 04:11pm):
Fixed, thanks.
BadFurDay (11/30/2007 04:20pm):
Quite watery for a desert :p
funwes (11/30/2007 06:14pm):
Maybe it's a cold desert, like the arctic?
BadFurDay (11/30/2007 06:49pm | Edited: 11/30/2007 06:49pm):
But the Sahara isn't quite in the arctic >_>

And the arctic is an ocean, not a desert, you're probably thinking of Siberia :p

Nice map. There's a lot of pressure on the HQ, but it doesn't make it impossible to
defend, so that's good. The only problem is that there is hardly any fight in the middle.

Broadside (12/05/2010 03:32am):
@BadFurDay: I think he meant Antarctica, as Antarctica is a desert.

Unless you like mobility.
Mori2 (07/07/2014 04:20am):
Retired from the Global League and moved to the Hall of Fame as of 7/7/2014.

This is such a memorable map, I had alot of fun playing Kindle on map because It felt like
Kindle was such a huge bully especially when using her tanks. Once she break the defense,
the rest is just devastating. The only way to stop her is to regroup with bunch of
infantries and push back with counter attack.

Also, I like how you can flank with your direct unit on this map, It always positioned at
the sweet spot.
Mori2 (12/01/2014 04:09pm):
Back into Rotation Maps as of December 1st, 2014.
Lost and Found (05/31/2021 05:57pm):
Back into Rotation Maps as of... somewhen recently.
walkerboh01 (09/13/2021 04:18pm):
This map is in the Hall of Fame as one of the most influential standard competitive maps of its era (approx. 2007 - 2010).
Myeteana (04/23/2023 08:22pm):
how in the fuck do you create or move units just make it a simple point and click game ffs
Ahahsoboo (07/25/2023 04:01pm):
I think 2/3 of players use Olaf on this map
Floortje (07/26/2023 02:47pm):
Plenty of options available. Gives player a lot of freedom for mobility, offense, and defense. Solid map
Meta Rexy (08/29/2023 01:50pm):
I'm impressed that this map has stood the test of time and aged gracefully. Olaf and
Drake are less oppressive due to the plethora of roads and shoals that prevent their
SCOPs from heavily disrupting supply lines. Kindle is also pretty strong but not
overwhelming here, despite the numerous contested cities.

Naval units can significantly impact the match, with black boats serving as invaluable
shields on the low defense shoals, and battleships covering crucial pivot points for
land units to switch fronts.

10/10. Even back in 2007 some of the maps on this site were expertly designed.
Nelfi (09/18/2023 01:42pm):
I like this map. You can be at a massive material disadvantage overall, but because the HQ is extremely vulnerable, you can
still win through a tactical advantage. But despite the map almost necessitating an HQ rush, it's also possible for the game to
shift the focus to the middle. You don't want to lose your properties in the middle, because how difficult it is to retake them from
your side. That city + forest combo is designed as a barrier.
likegel (09/28/2023 04:53am | Edited: 10/02/2023 06:09am):
In fact, there are 5 disputed cities near HQ, more than 2 cities on the island.

One drawback is that the disputed cities are too far away, which can drag the front line for a long time and make it difficult to
accumulate an advantage to end the game. Strong command in COP will lead to better performance.

And HQ cap cake
Shikabane FOG (01/09/2024 05:15pm):
Easily one of my favorite maps in the STD GL, such a fun one to play with great strong side, weakside dynamics with good
pivots to control. Easily one of the best maps out there.
Operation_Stormwise_Jess (01/25/2024 12:18am):
a very strong battle copter map

Grit can lockout the enemy airport with a carrier, not that he could realistically afford to build one

Great map. Amazing that this is from 2007!!
UWV (06/19/2024 08:53pm):
bad map, if you dont do your research and have perfect capture chains the enemy auto wins. if you dont go into the center at
the perfect moment the enemy wins
Silvera (09/24/2024 04:16pm):
@UWV could you please demonstrate so the issue can be looked at?
Greentane (04/02/2025 10:47am):
Bestest map
