This is another attempt at Avoiding that horrible title, FTA.

To do this i've made a map that encourages reverse travel, away from the middle. also
there's a slight distance advantage for Blue Moon, but i'd like to figure out a map that
is both symmetrical and fair/balanced.

hit me up with some comments.
sirfuxalot (11/10/2007 10:28pm):
This isn't symmetrical, OS can reach their port 1 day early. This is a good concept
though, try to add some more properties closer to the front; also, the bases seem a bit
close (to the point of where a rocket can fire from base-to-base).

All of Blue's potential cities are closer than Orange's. but agreed it's one advantage to
Orange. but Blue has it's share.

What is your point of denying FTA every time? We're not a bunch of sectarians who talk
about FTA to piss off people, we're not a bunch of illuminated freaks who invent random
concepts for no reason, FTA is a topic here because it exists and can tip the balance of a
map for the first player, which makes a huge difference in some situations.

The advantage OS has is extra simple: By being the first one to reach the middle, they
can use their B Copter to put some pressure on BM's copters (and possibly destroy their T
Copter if they play it well), whilst their own T Copter can just go back and forth without
being annoyed. Yeah, BM's cities are a bit closer, but OS can get a headstart and annoy
BM's infantries with recons, tanks, and AAs before BM can produce anything defensive.

Besides, the map is too small to have any real interest, make it bigger, give it a proper
amount of cities, don't clump cities like you do on the left and right edge of the map
(it's always a bad thing), and remove those pointless ports, noone will want to build
anything in them given the little funds this map offers. The concept has potential, but
it's poorly executed this way.

Duly noted.
