Not bad, it could use some more neutral cities though. 7/10

NOW to explain the map...
Someone commented before i could even explain :(
Teams are obvious. It's meant for teams thats why no infantry counter.
I added one city to each army cause of ^him^
I don't like when the funding is super high.
I am a fan of smart invesment games in this game.
Lab units are your choice.

NOTE: This is my second map here in AWBW.

Honestly, 'expand to center because there's something important there' are kinda stale
now. While yes, this is a very good job for a second map (heck, for many maps, this is
pretty good), I'm still gonna pick it apart

Hope you don't mind ^_^

1) The terrain is a little bit bland. It could use some more forests/mountains/roads to
make the map more colorful/interesting.
2) Building on this a little bit, a few more neutral cities wouldn't hurt (note: cities,
not bases). I understand that you don't like 'super high' funding, but since each player
gets 10,000 G/turn, you really won't be teching up that much, especially with three bases,
and it's gonna be a tank/infantry/artillery spam, which on a 10000G map is the definition
of "smart investment". A few more neutral cities won't hurt as much as you think.
3) OS will always get the silo if played correctly. That's bad. I suggest you get rid of
the silo, and add something that won't mess up captures (like a city or a tower).
4) After capturing the forward base, I see no main incentive to use the 2 bases near the
HQ for anything but infantry. This is something very tough to build on, though, so if you
repositioned the bases, that might change a little bit.

As I said above, 'expand to the center' maps are kinda stale right now, so you need to add
something very interesting in the center. As it stands now, easily assaultable labs and a
slio are not something I find to be extremely interesting. That said, this is a pretty
darn good map for only a second try.

8/10

If you're looking for maps that encourage "smart investment", well, that's every playable
map. To win in AW you need to invest in the right units that will do maximum damage to your
opponent's units, and that's basically the definition of "smart investment", regardless of
amount of funds (10,000 or 20,000, you still need to be more efficient with your unit
purchases than your opponent). This disregards 9999999999 funds a turn/other wierd
maps - note that I said "playable" maps.

Hopefully this will cause an increase in neutral cities, because the map does need them. It's
much easier to make smart investments when your options are limited to footsoldier, tank,
artillery than when you must choose between, say, a B-copter + Anti-Air or a Rocket +
Infanrty or 2 tanks, etc.

Another part of the game I feel is important is the strategy and unit positioning. This has
more to do with get your units in front of the center so you can capture the key points- I'm
talking about during the fighting on the frontlines. Having roads, plains, forests, and cities
around you forces you to take terrain defence into account when positioning your units and
attacking enemy units, thus adding another strategic layer to the game. IMO this is a good
thing, and allows for more opportunity to outplay the opponent, and you seem like the kinda
guy that would agree with me there.

OK, you made me type WAY too much. You get a special helpful wall of text because you
show potential. You have made a genuine effort to make a fun and enjoyable map for
everyone, and if you've taken the time to read this then I feel the time I spent typing it was
worth it. I believe you could become a wonderful mapmaker, just stay open to constructive
criticism and all that. Hell at this rate, you could even be the one giving US advice someday.
Look forward to your next creation :D

Oh, and 7/10 as is.
Tyrael (11/19/2007 06:19pm):
That was a frickin HUGE wall of text I created @.@
nerd-boy (11/19/2007 07:13pm):
