The only thing I can see (altough tyrael could probably see more) is that GE would get to the dot of the exclamation point faster than the others, giving an advantage |

It could use less emptiness, especially in the sea areas. 1000 Funds per turn is not enough to fund a sea battle when everyone is getting 16 properties IF everything goes correctly, which it won't, as GE will most likely get the five properties on the exclamation point dot with a turn 1 Black Boat giving them 15 properties, and they'll get a guaranteed 3 more on the island itself. The properties are also imbalanced. GE probably gets 5 bases, whilst BM and OS only get 4, GE is the only team to get a tower, GE is guaranteed 3 ports, and may get the one in the center of the G is OS doesn't rush it, OS gets 2 if they can't get the central port fast enough, while BM will be stuck with two for most if not all of the game. Also: FTA is improperly countered (1 infantry does NOT work when there are more than 3000 starting funds). So yeah, it's quite imbalanced, and could use a lot more work in my opinion. |

noted; i'm thinking to even some things out: 1) take the base in the lower-left part of the G (between GE and OM) and move it closer to the city near the center on the same road 2) move GE's ports a bit farther to the left? 3) have shoals mostly on the south/east of the exclamation point and remove some west/ north ones, maybe move the port into the dot's northeastern corner and nix the base too 4) move the comm tower onto a small island that would be closer to being right between OS/ BM/GE or just eliminate it, move the neutral city closest to GE (the one almost straight east of their HQ and on the south side of the river) onto the comm tower's old spot; the original idea here was that everyone would be fighting for the comm tower, but all things considered it's a lot easier to get there by land as GE than by sea as OS, and BM has it even harder 5) add an extra neutral city or something on the lower half of BM's starting island? 6) have some mountains coming off the edge of the screen to limit some of the breathing room for sea units? as for the "emptiness" and FTA countering i could use some suggestions there; i was trying to keep it free of problematic choke points without being barren or having an assload of forest to hide in during fog, though i guess a few more mountains would help for the FTA counter i originally figured that GE would have to choose between 3 options on first turn (go for comm tower/exclamation point dot/left half of G) but it seems that the comm tower/lower island options are easy either way as it is, plus BM will have to spend a few more turns building up forces before moving them onto the G; maybe give GE a few starting units like tanks while BM has some too and a lander to go with them? |

Give them more starting and neutral bases to play with otherwise the navy part of this map will just flounder. Position GE further left and down so they can all try and fight for the tip of the G. Make it harder for GE to get their via land with less roads and more mountains and trees (and rivers to sort of blot out some tank units). Perhaps you should also move OS left some AND/OR BM down some and create more intimidating territory that they'd both want to fight over near the tip of the "!" and/or the top edge of the G. This might also put BM in a better position to fight with GE for the dot. I can't give any tips on the FTA or GE's advantage (maybe start with Black boats/lander? or more infantry.) I'm not sure on any specifics for neutral building placement either. just make sure each guy can capture a certain amount evenly for himself and then have to fight for some of the better stuff. also watch out where you place the shoals and sore of cluster together the forests and reefs for FoW. |
