Tyrael (11/26/2007 01:52pm):
Clumped terrain, misplaced FTA counter, two bases next to each other, too many bases, a
base on one side is a city on the other, chokey across the rivers. 1.
sulla (11/26/2007 02:40pm):
Tyrael your nothing but a troll.
DuelStriker (11/26/2007 03:52pm):
B-COPTER SPAM LOL
Nyvelion (11/26/2007 03:53pm | Edited: 11/26/2007 03:53pm):
all three of you are correct
Tyrael (11/26/2007 04:46pm):
I don't see how giving my opinion on a map and rating it accordingly is "trolling".
On an unrelated note, I see 4.00 in 3 ratings as of now. That means three people's total
votes total up to 12 (4x3=12). Since I gave a 1, that means the two other voters gave a total
of 11. 10+1 perhaps? But where would a 10 come from? DS and nyvelion don't have bad
enough taste to give this a 10, and I already gave it a 1. That leaves only one commenter as
a possibility for a 10.
You do know self 10's are looked down upon, right?
funwes (11/26/2007 05:36pm):
It could also be a 5 and 6? >_>

Also, 2.8 in five ratings now btw
Tyrael (11/26/2007 07:05pm):
DuelStriker didn't give this a 5 or 6.
Shadow Star (11/26/2007 08:25pm):
I'm going to have to ask some questions before rating.
Why do all of the forests feel artificial?
is that base supposed to be there and not in actuality...a city?
are those chokepoints supposed to be there?
are there supposed to be 9 bases to less then 27 non base property?

Those are my questions that i'd like answered before any vote from me.
sulla (11/29/2007 06:30am):
Opps Need to fix that factory thanks for poiting it out.

So people are basicly saying this map is a 1? dont you think thats a bit extreme?
Heartless rockzorz (12/01/2007 01:41pm):
Very nice. Could be better for the reason we told you, but really deserves a 7 IMO.
blanci1 (12/08/2007 06:21pm):
Nice rotational symetry with an unusual if busy feel. Sure the trees are planted by man like
in holland on either side of the road. In fog will be plenty of danger lurking in the trees on
that main road , which presumably encourages a detour via the walled(piped)-in cities. With
3 nearby bridges on main route i dont see too much choke there?
sulla (12/10/2007 02:46am | Edited: 12/10/2007 02:48am):
Glad someone understands my map. I might do some editing on it and place two mountains in
the centre.

DuelStriker (12/17/2007 04:14pm):
I am saying that because you can just spam infantry and b-copters. moving the aiports
would be a good idea.
sulla (12/20/2007 10:15am):
One game I played I tryed spamming coppters, and I lost big time.
blanci1 (02/03/2008 04:38am):
Why trust off-the-cuff comments presented with little explanation?

This map (Desu Desu) reminds me of the A-rank (8.35) AWBW ladder map Mind Games
with some significant variations. Firstly, Desu is a city-scape with a totally tree-lined
road...curious tactics to be learnt here ?! Secondly, Theres much more reason to venture to
the wing and neglect the centre...a difficult strategic balance. Only the best generals have
any chance of winning here !
With that wide central strip presenting such a massive potential income there seems little
worry of choke....if you dont surrender i just buy weapons of mass destruction. ..HA HA !

P:S: If trolls persist to operate in gangs we may need to do some culling or genetic
modification before they reach reproductive age. (:

nerd-boy (02/17/2008 10:30am):
^You obviously haven't been here very long, have you?

I think that the main reason this isn't A-ranked is because the FTA counter is grossly
misplaced. One infantry does not counter 4K starting funds, even if it does have a
two-square headstart.

Also: this map is very chokepointish and single-frontish. Since there isn't an A-rank map
called Mind Games, I'm assuming you mean Mind Trap (reference:
http://awbw.amarriner.com/prevmaps.php?maps_id=10419). Mind trap has two fronts (on the
top and the bottom). Also: the center road isn't surrounded on all sides by forests (which
is something that increases the chokepointiness of this map). Furthermore, the FTA counter
is correct, and the map doesn't promote B-copter + Infantry spam (lack of airports). In
games I've played on Mind Trap, I've built a wide variety of units (including Mechs, APCs,
Tanks, etc). I don't see any reason why tanks would be very good on this map because their
movement is so limited in the center.

Hope my input is taken into consideration.
sulla (02/23/2008 07:00am):
Well nerd boy there hasnt been a single game I played on this has has been choked. The B
copter infrantry spam can be delt with anti airs.
nerd-boy (02/27/2008 09:14pm):
Well, the middle is open, so chokes wouldn't be where the major conflicts are.

HOWEVER! It still only has one front.

Which leads to stalemates.

Which are bad.
sulla (02/29/2008 07:29pm):
Nope there is more than one front. The centre, and the fight for the pipe factory.

someone took this work of genius of the b list lol
Bearkillers (03/24/2008 07:34pm):
nerd-boy or one of most of the other commenters probably, after all they have the power to
do that. (which sucks if you ask me because I seem to have all of them against me)
blanci1 (06/26/2008 09:15pm | Edited: 07/05/2008 10:20am):
so has nerd-boy changed his mind? before he was saying it is choked , later he
says "well the middle is open so chokes wouldnt be where the major conflicts are "

tyraels original comment of chokes across the rivers is obviously nonsense since if the
battlefront ever reached the 3 bridges the financial gain would already be overwhelming

shadow asks if the "chokes are suposed to be there" ..

......and now we find its not choked but the problem now is it has only one front ..... but
where is that one front ?... ...presumably its the centre which is 5 squares wide ..but the
adjacent rivers can be crossed with mechs and infantry so it becomes a very complex front
(not to mention copters).. and what about the corners ? they both get subjected to attack
and have a valuable base to fight over ... so there are 2 more fronts here .. so thats 3 fronts
easily discernable ...and i can verify these fronts actually arise when playing this map. And
for a small map you cant expect many more fronts ! ... these already use up all of the space
on the map . ((spoilers removed))
There are plenty of plans one can invent here to try to win ....and theres no simple plan
which forces an obvious draw.
The number of dismal slatings and ratings this interesting and excellent map has attracted
indicate that awbw is being overseen by a group of chummies.

Lacking substance of argument ned-boy rhetorically concludes that i havent been at awbw
very long .... i should respond by saying that its pretty obvious that he has been here a long
time .

This map is different and interesting and a good lesson .

blanci1 (07/05/2008 10:29am):
JUST LOOK at the wonderful statistics this map has !!!!!! never mind all the hot air opinions of
choked draws.
The facts say from 8 games NOT EVEN ONE DRAW ...... 5 wins OS 3 wins BM = 0 draws
Also impressive is the average number of days for a game reaching over 18 days !!! wow...
thats indicates a very interesting battle where no-one gets bored and booted .... and it
shows its not a fast racey game with a quick resignation but a real battle to the end. You
only need to play the map to see its a great battle.

blanci1 (07/07/2008 12:45pm):
the appalling ratihg this map has recieved proves that ....
1. people who play the map dont often rate it and that
2. the trolls who rated it are not being objective about the map.
also ive been checking other top awbw maps and the most i can find is a few maps get 13
or 14 days per game with some draws usually . Most "good" maps only get from 10 - 13
days per game.
a432 (07/13/2008 01:18pm):
How can you tell if there is a draw in the map statistic window?

And this is a good map not anywhere close of deserving its 3.25 in 20 votes. I will 10 this.
blanci1 (08/14/2008 12:13pm | Edited: 08/14/2008 12:19pm):
click map analisis and look at country box
Note a draw would show up as a win for both players (!!??i believe)... so the win
percentages would add up to greater than 100 % if there are draws and exactly 100 % if no
draws (on 1 v 1 maps only)
blanci1 (10/01/2014 09:11pm):
Dual Striker should remove his infinitely repeating comment...
Such stuff messes up the page making it very hard to view.
It may also waste server resourses, and we ave enough trouble already.
