Using random old memes that were never really funny in the first place out of context obviously makes your maps 100 times better. Not. First off, switch BM and YC, then make one city in BM's base belong to GE, and one in OS's base belong to YC, then give every player an infantry (for OS and BM it should be within reach of that city), and give YC and GE two infantries instead of one. It should somewhat counter enough. I'd also suggest breaking one of the seams next to each player's starting location, having them break a seam when they start is basically just a pointless waste of time, and kills the early game strategy of back and forth capture. Unclump the terrain aswell, all those lines of forests are ugly and don't serve any real purpose, it all seems too geometrical and standard to be of any interest, and negates the strategy of working with the star rating of whatever terrain you're one. That also causes the map to be unappealing since it looks like "yet another map made of 3 rectangles next to eachother separated by water", but that's just a detail, it doesn't really directly alter gameplay, just removes any originality value from the game. The map is also horribly choked in places, consider reducing the number of com towers in the middle but adding airports there instead, air units are the best way to unchoke those bridges and piped starting locations. Make whatever you want of those suggestions, they're possibly not all good ones, I'll hold on my rating for later on. |

Try replacing some of those neutral cities with bases and airports, and maybe replacing the bridges with "port bridges" so that sea and ground units can pass through. |

What are those "memes" things that Badfurday talks about ?...(yes i know im a bit green behind the ears). I wont argue with BFDs application of The General Theory of Countering which is certainly mind-boggling. Could BFD or anyone please give us a map name of a similar map for us to compare and asses originality. I think this is a cityscape geometrical map so that lines of trees are kind of inevitable. Surely the trees will be critically important in gameplay as hideouts and ambushing (sorry if this is a spoiler..i can edit it out later). Artistically, i think in Fogofwar the stark geometry and color will get shaded out and it wont blast your eyes quite so much.!! Maybe chokey ..but i supose the com towers are to help whoever gets them to literally blast their way across. If you put in those port/bridge thingies you could go further with the naval circulation and make the center into a big island by putting a water strip across top and bottom. The version i see is missing the airports too for yellows and greens. Happy hunting. |
