My first attempt at a 8-Player map. Yes, it's not that great, but I really enjoyed making it.

Pink Cosmos, Cobalt Ice, Teal Galaxy and Purple Lightning can reach the center bases and
the silo the quickest; on the other hand, Grey Sky, Brown Desert, Amber Blaze and Jade
Sun will normally head for the nearby airport. The cities surrounding the edges are most
likely contested by the neighbouring armies. I should stress that when joining or making a
game on this map, you think carefully which army you choose. Land or air? Up to you.

The reason this map is named 'Deceptions' is because, due to the ability to send messages
to the other armies, the key motive of this map is revealed; secret truces and silent
betrayels. Will you unite with your former enemies and strike an unexpecting foe or will you
wage war alone? That's the beauty of this game; you think like a real commander.

The terrain is mainly roads, mountain barriers and spread-out woods, but I added a lake in
the middle for scenery purposes. I also put cities between army areas to increase hostility;
gets the match going quickly. The lack of starting bases may seem like a slow start, but it
warms up quick.

General Infomation:
Team - I prefer the solo theme, but if you want teams, then any combination should do. The
symmetrical shape of the map allows for almost any team pairings. A certain one to suggest
is GS/BD/AB/JS vs. PC/CI/JG/PL. Land versus air in a all-front dogfight!

Fog of War - Suggested. Not only does the whole 'deception' motive (explained above) boost
from this, but the amount of mountains and woods is perfect for the situation.

Units Bans - None in general. If I had to pick one in particular, I would say Black Bomb. The
cramped areas of this map would make it a bit too strong.

CO Bans - Apart from obvious choices (Sturm, Von Bolt, etc.), I think COs who get stronger
from terrain should be considered. You know, Jake and Candy... and the others. I haven't
played Dual Strike in a while.

FTA - Sorry about not including it. I have problems understanding it. If I remake the map one
day, I'll include FTA counters.

Final Thoughts - If I had one last thing to say, it would be to encourage making truces and
betraying allies. Trust me, this map is perfect for it; some armies have airports while others
have bases, FoW hides your intents and your 'ally' never knows when you could be
sneaking over to his or her HQ after the battle is won...

That 9/10 might be a bit too much. There's terrain clumping and I'm not liking the 4000
funds, 1 base thing.

I'll give it a 7

Black bombs are overpowered/broken on pretty much all maps with airports. CO bans
should always be the "broken 5" - Grit, Kanbei, Hachi, Colin, Sensei. There's enough roads
that Sturm should be fine (he's 80/120 here and has a MP cost of 1 over all terrain- not crazy
like in AW2). Von Bolt's a very average CO, I can't think of any map where he would need a
ban. Stealths are probably bad here too since not everybody gets an airport.

One base per team is pretty low, I'd say put two there so you can fight on more fronts. I'd
also take 2 bases over base + airport any day, but 3 bases vs 2 base + airport is more of a
choice (more bases is still the better option though).

I think FTA isn't bad here, the first teams to move start in the corners (worse position) so
that's probably about as even as it can get here. The first of the four middle teams to move
(PC I think) will get the silo first every time which is bad, so either take it out or give
everybody a silo. I'd rather you take it out altogether, me and most people here don't like
silos at all (kinda like black bombs).

Anyway, seems like a solid, well thought out map. My suggestions are just that-
suggestions. Feel free to use them or ignore them, just don't take it as an insult and flame
me. Happy holidays :) PS- 8/10

Thanks for the tips. I'm already planning Deceptions V2 where there will be more bases
(both starting and nuetral), average out the locations (airports easier to capture from center
teams and bases easier for corner teams) and remove some terrain (too many mountains
and woods on second thought, but silos are prehaps a key point). I'll also rethink the unit and
CO bans, and if I can, I'll add in FTA counters.

If I do remake the map, I'll probably dub it 'Delusions'. Look out for it.
