Lions have been known to attack soldiers at the central lake.

The game ends when one player controls 17 properties at the start of his turn.

Banned MegaTanks. Watch out for fuel and ammo.

5000 credits / turn. No COs.

However, for variety Adder x2.

Other variation - ban rockets and/or artillery, for tank only game.
Red11 (12/21/2007 03:05pm):

The main geographical feature is distance and space.

You will need a well composed attack forces, comprising APCs. You will also need to
defend your bases whilst the armour is away. Possibilities for more static fighting in the
middle.

You have a thing for butt-ugly roads, don't you?
Red11 (12/22/2007 12:33am):

I only did it that way to annoy you.

Red11 (12/22/2007 03:08am):

Also, would be more realistic with FOW, simulating sandstorms etc.
Hemskinator (12/22/2007 04:04am):
Its a good idea.. but the map needs a little more fine tuning, especially the plains cause
Jake would destroy in this map
Red11 (12/24/2007 12:25pm):

The roads in this map represent 'salt pans'. Soft ground, not good for tanks, because they
can get bogged down and loose some mobility.
felix45 (02/08/2008 12:37pm):
what reason does anyone have to go outside of their 1 base? seems to me that just infantry
spamming and surrounding your tanks with infantry from that one base would be the best
tactic. this map fails.
Red11 (02/23/2008 08:53pm):

Felix45 ?? If you only defend one base, you will loose to overwhelming credit disadvantage?
LaLaLash (12/21/2008 12:30am):
This would be fun on a 4p scale. Interesting idea.
blanci1 (01/15/2009 12:21pm | Edited: 01/20/2009 04:55pm):
Yes it looks bare ..... but so does the sahara desert. A good general should learn how to
battle over all terrain types. I have tried a couple of big maps in fog and non-fog... and
they both worked ! And i am pretty sure this map will work just fine too.

i think the salt pan (xroads) are visually not
too bad in fog while they are a significant gameplay feature giving rockets and recon a help
in crossing otherwise difficult sandy terrain.
The split or double starting positions are a very interesting feature amplifying gameplay
possibilities .... i particularly like big maps in fog, with a dark expanse of unknown.....
A slightly better fta counter might be an APC plus half movements of the predeployeds, but
anyway should be reasonably playable as is, at least to test the map concept.

Tyrael (01/26/2009 03:08pm):
" A good general should learn how to
battle over all terrain types."

This is hard when there is only one terrain type.
Red11 (01/28/2009 08:41am):

Good to have you back Tyrael.

Im going to add one apc to black lower left base, after current game finished.
blanci1 (02/02/2009 04:19pm | Edited: 02/02/2009 04:26pm):
Ha ha tyrael , very amusing. ...But hopefully its clear what i mean --- i could rephrase it
as "we should learn how to battle over all types of map" . And this map really requires some
very unusual kinds of strategies as i am discovering right now (at some cost!) in my fog
game with red 11. ..... though i think sonja may save the day for me .... yeah i think she
breaks brokens on this map!
Seriously i would highly recommend this map to anyone its great fun especially in fog -- ban
sonja :( pity but we cant all win.
Red11 (02/07/2009 06:29pm | Edited: 02/07/2009 06:32pm):
I wouldnt go so far as saying that Sonja is broken here, but she is very good obviously, the
map was made for her! Well picked up, blanci. Kanbei is an animal here, as is so often the
case, with early fighting, so Id say ban him. Hachi could get going nicely and so too Colin if
they dont get sufficiently punished early.

A dark horse is Von Bolt, who small geezer handled very nicely on another large map battle,
we had.

Max is an obvious choice, and everyones favourite for these type of battles, his
COP and SCOP, rapidly filled on this type of map, means long-striking tanks, exactly the
kind you want on this map, as blanci will soon find out to his sorrow. :-)
blanci1 (05/29/2009 03:06am | Edited: 05/29/2009 03:09am):
hey ! ... we had a real imbalanced test game here (sonja v max), which after 20++ days ! of
furious fighting in fog i was sneaking up artilleries though red still had many mad max neo s
around ... his income was greater... i think FTA needs balancing better, but great fun.
EDIT-- maybe not necessary to actually ban sonja, like red says.
MorganLeah (11/07/2014 01:43pm):
needs more lions
