ChrisPBacon (12/27/2007 11:06am | Edited: 12/27/2007 05:42pm):
The idea: Get your infantry past all the Jade Sun units and capture the enemy HQ. This may require detours, cheap tricks, and stealth tactics, or just Jugger and a bunch of luck = P. Storming the pipe maze guarding the seaport promises a stiff fight, but you should be prepared for that by the time you get there. Good luck. Rules: JS cannot deploy units from bases (though captureing is allowed to keep OS from deploying.) It must rely on the pre deployed to stop OS. JS may not break pipe seams either because if OS meets an MD on day five the game is over. OS cannot deploy megas (because I don't like them for turning tactics into overwhelming force and that isn't fun at all.) Fog must be on with random weather added in if your want to shake things up. Banned: Grit, Kanbei, Hachi and Sensei for all (Maybe more? Lash?) Drake, Sturm, Von Bolt, Hawke, (Edit: Rachel), Colin and Olaf for OS because of HP chipping and colin's spamage. Colin may be alright for JS because he cannot deploy. Furthermore, he needs a good six stars to do anything sinister and his weak Day to Day will give OS a chance (but PoM is going to be vicious = D). Other than that, anything goes. Any glaring flaws? |

OS cannot possibly win. Because JS has a battleship, they can supply it by capturing the port and building black boats, that way whenever OS lands on the HQ they will blow it to pieces. also that mega there is going to help..Doesn't look like OS will secure any of the properties either. I give OS about a 3% chance of winning, and only if JS is a total moron. However, it would be enjoyable against the AI who would no doubt delete his mega. Edit: I didn't rate...the Random twos are from someone else. |

I like this map. I think it will be very interesting to play. And to the above poster, JS can't build Black boats if the rules that ChrisPBacon stated are used. |

I was expecting that favorite add (Nascar...) to be for the same reasons that I put a map into my favorites on RedlineM203 - its just flawed like hell. And who actually is going to follow those rules? JS should want to win, nice and easy. |

"And who is actually going to follow those rules?" People like me who want to play the game how it was made to be played |

EDIT: I don't like doubles... |

ChrisPBacon (12/27/2007 05:45pm):
I also like the idea of making it 3 or four player with the first player resisting OS in the mountians, second fighting around the airport, and the third taking the navy and the piped area. Thx for the complements Nascar! I wish i could stay around to test, but i am going on vacation tommorrow. I might make a test game when I get back. |

Other than the irrelevant fact that there's no fucking way OS can win, no, there aren't any glaring flaws at all. 10/10 |

I doubt that anyone would actually follow the rules. Or if they did, they might just "forget" halfway through the game. It's an interesting concept though. |

After looking at it a bit, I do think that OS needs to get more cities before the first pipeline break (the one by the MD. tank and 2 artillery). I say this because OS will most likely only have 2 properties by the time they clear the first land area. That's not nearly enough to get a MD. tank in enough time before it just gets time-consuming waiting for the funds to build up. Making this 3 or 4 players would definately make it interesting. Other than what I said at the top of this post, I still like this map's concept. :-) Now if only you could get the AWDS AI to not destroy pipelines.... |

ChrisPBacon (01/04/2008 09:20pm):
Edited it up and added about four cities. I did not put them all in the first land area because I think the airport area should be cleared with as few funds as possible. It is infantry tactics afterall = D. The extra cities should total funds up to 12k per turn. While not alot, I think the funds and deployment restrictions should make things interesting when storming the piped area in the bottom. Crossfire anyone? And yes, it is a shame the AI cannot be programed to leave the pipelines. I want to test this thing out on the DS... |
