Maybe add some coasts so that there is actually a chance of invading the islands,
otherwise its to easy to block at the ports. Not enough funds for a naval map, bottom left
team gets 1000 less funds a turn than the other three factions? they have one less city.

I'd add shoals.
another reef or two (or more, the sea is rather plain.
Increase the amount of space that the land units can maneuver around on.
The city count is really bad, it could use more cities, a lot more cities if your going to have air,
or sea.
If your having starting units, I'd give everyone equal units. (not necessarily the same but
equal) Like OS's lander, that is a huge advantage on this map due to how little funds players
start with.
It's, a decent concept, but at the moment not much more. Funds and starting positions are a
real issue on this map.

If you were to do the Battle of Britain, you would add quite a few bombers for Germany,
and very few Missiles for Britain, along with Fighters and even infantry representing all
the people that are running to bomb shelters

But that would be making it historically accurate.
